**** The Great Sunday Flower Show ****

E-510 w/ 14-42mm

The flowers look like this after the wind and rain from tropical storm Hanna as the storm went by us in Virginia. Some bands were still coming through and it was quite windy at times but no rain while taking the pictures. It is interesting how the petals are like lace or look gelatinous after being damaged by the rain.

These were all taken with the 50-200mm lens and I do believe the EC14 was attatched while I was shooting this day too. I really apreciate the nice comment. Flowers can be magic to photograph! You know, I've never printed any of my flower shots. I think I should do that!

Oh and my first name is Shirley :o)

was it a wild flower or in someones garden? Do you know the name of it? I don't know the name of half the flowers I see. Maybe even less then half! I just like how it looks, you took a very good photo of it. It's interesting and pretty.

I guess the good news is, they are still attached at all!! Glad that storm was just a lot of water and not a lot of damaging winds. Are you soaked to the bone around where you live? Try to keep dry!

Taken with an e-500 and Pentax M 50mm f1.7 that I bought second hand in 1980. The subject is one of our indoor plants.

Shoot this with the Bigma set to 500mm got bored with the birds. I don't know its name.

Dont know the name taken with my little gem Fuji S100FS.

Thanks. The lens does a good job.

There were few flowers with mostly unopened buds remaining. They have an unearthly beauty when they are water logged. They were hard to reach. I really had to stick my head through the branches to get to them. The bush is next to a parking lot, so I had be careful about distracting backgrounds. I could have used an articulating lcd, since I had to hold the camera up and could not see what I was focusing on for one picture of a bud high up in the bush. It would have been nice, but the AF missed it.

The pink ones were in better shape but the wind really started gusting and most of those had subject movement. I was a little worried there might be some blurring in the white ones at the shutter speed, but they turned out okay.
