Hello all... been reading up on the A650 IS and have decided to buy it, but also having a hard time finding it. I see that Amazon has it through this seller, and wonder if any of you are familiar with its reputation? I would appreciate any other leads-- thanks so much! Oh, and i so appreciate the amount of time and energy so many of you take in sharing info on this site. I am an artist, and have the composition, emotion, etc. down pat (the intuitive part, lol!), but am a total newbie to the technical side. It is tremendously helpful to read for help on this site-- thanks! Michelle

Check at Homedepot.com (not home depot stores). They had them advertised there as new, not refurbished, this llast week!

Hi Michelle,

It appears that Sixth Avenue Electronics has a decent rating, probably due to its association with Amazon, and Homedepot.com mentioned in the second post, has a very poor rating.

I suggest you Bookmark, or add to your Favorites, the resellerratings site.

It's not perfect but it's by far the most trustworthy site of its type.

Good luck on finding an A650.

Rick

Thanks for the feedback! I went ahead and ordered it from 6th Ave via Amazon, as it was actually new, and sold for $349. Wish I had been in the market even earlier when they were a bit cheaper. Oh well-- I consider myslef lucky that I found one before they were gone. I can't wait to get it, and be able to leave my DSLR at home. Too fun to have a camera on me at all times to get those shots that just catch your eye when out and about. Thanks again for your responses :). Michelle

It just amazes me how fast new cameras come out these days to replace the so-called "older" models. Congrats on finding one. I think you'll enjoy it. ;)

Michelle,

Thanks for the info.
A650 is so hard to find nowadays.
I've almost given up hope on finding one until I saw your post.
I have ordered one too.
Thanks a lot.
