Colour IQ test

I guess I suck since I got a 38; maybe later I'll retry. Lazy I am so I didn't vet every bar (spent less then 5 minutes; impatient I am; lol). Still, it looks like the red and green bars is where I'm having a little issue, so I know where I will concentrate more next time (or is it fair to re-test knowing where one's weakness is so that the extra contration will give you a better score; hee hee). :)

Interesting for sure! I scored a perfect 0 on my first try. I'd guess I spent only about 5 minutes on the whole test. It didn't seem so hard to me - but then, if I have "perfect" color vision, I guess that's why I didn't think it was hard.

For those of you who are tracking - I'm female, in the 40-49 age group.

Definitely a fun way to spend 5 minutes!

I had a 206 score... One of the bars was off the chart!!(guess that was pink)

5 or 6 of the other bars were halfway up the chart or more. Actually, I thought i would have a worse score, being as the worst score possible was 1332!!

Guess i'll toss my cameras and computer in the trash!!! Anyone need a 24 inch Imac and an Intell mac Book?? I need to look for another hobby Think I' ll ' try stamp collecting!!!

yes, women should , as an average, score higher. Color blindness is a male trait and is a gene on the y chromosome(x -female- y -male) I have heard that there are some cases of female color blindness- but can't verify it

Or your monitor may be at fault. Mine's and old CRT (8 years now) and it may also have some issues with this too. I do need an new monitor, but I still refuse to go LCD waiting on SED or OLED to become financially viable. I do have 2 (only used for three years while living in the Atlanta area for dual monitor set up) monitors in storage that I could try to power up (hopefully they won't blow up; lol. Had to recently get my TV set out of storage and it works 100% fine) if necessary. Come on manufacturers; give me a cost effective SED please. :)

Actooly, I believe the score can be different each time the tiles are generated, as they're placed randomly. I just hit the score button without moving a single tile, and got 1011.

I didn't want to go lcd either as I prefer crts.. Then i purchased a 24 inch, non glossy screen, imac. I still have a sony artisan crt that i want to run as a dual monitor- but i can't find the adapter ($20) I refuse to buy another one , as i know it is here somewhere. Looks like I have too much camera and computer junk stored away!!

i doubt the monitor is the problem as i would think calibration or color differences between monitors wouldn't effect the luminosity of the colors.

Buzz,

It would be interesting to see the result of your test, where they show what areas your hue distinction is less.

This way, we can see what area are considered to be 'pink blind'.

Would you mind doing the test again and post that for us?

I'd appreciate it.

Thanks
Jacques

If I took it again -- i would probably get a lower score !!! 206 is bad enough.

Plus, i could spend all day moving the squares around, as many look the same (or almost. i am red green colord blind --and I know it..

Back when i was 18- I got fired from ny first job bfore i I began work.. I was hired by Westinghouse,Electronics Division as a cable maker and lead processor, pending a physical.. I would have to be able to read color coded-- covered wires. Well ,2 days later I received this cablegram from Westinghouse. "Offer canceled, Please call Mr Candy." (That actually was his name),-- although I kinda knew i was partially color blind

This is a cool site in case you are curious as to what Buzzzman is seeing:
http://colorfilter.wickline.org/

Which I got from this blog:
http://www.colourlovers.com/blog/2008/07/24/as-seen-by-the-color-blind/

I pulled his "funny" edit from the other thread which is this:

And here is the conversion (from the site above) of what he sees:

(note: it may take some time to process.)

Have fun!

Apparently not.. First of - I use spell check and "canceled " wasn't highlighted -- looked like "cancelled" is ok also,. I looked it up on my computers dictionary- and saw" c-a-n-c-e-l-e-d- used twice in the definition of of cancel (used as past tense). I didn't any reference to cancelled. i looked up cancelled -- it took me to the word cancel..

All of this aside.--- looks like i am red green color blind and you are anal retentive when it comes to spelling. The cablegram was from memory-- sorry you didn' t approve of the spelling. I' ll be sure to double check my grammar and spelling when posting (yeah --right)

I am in England. We invented the language, you didn't quite copy it correctly.

As Binary-eye said, the jpg compression could be causing color shifts, but here's my humble assessment. I used arrows to show which tiles could possibly be switched...
