Hi Uri,

I don't have any experience of the kata HB-207 or the lowepro vertex 300 so can't comment on them.

I have used a Tamrac Pro 12 bag for about 3 months now and it should accommodate all of the gear you mentioned. I find that it is not overpowering in size, but still has lots of room inside to fit in a lot of stuff. It has ample pockets too for cards, filters, phone, etc.

I have been caught in a few rain showers and it has remained waterproof at all times. I think it is very well built and excellent value for money.

Best wishes with your choice

Gary

wich one of them is better?
Depends on how you plan to use it and what you want from the bag.

If you need a backpack that travels easily when flying (think airline rules, overhead lockers etc.) take a look at the ThinkTank Airport series of bags. Designed for air travel, very high quality, can be carried in reasonable comfort:

This may not be the best choice if your primary requirement is serious hiking with the emphasis on waterproofing, comfort etc.

Having said that, the gear you listed is going to represent a huge amount of weight for a really long hike. As an amateur wimp I wouldn't want to carry that load for a day, but please disregard my comments if you're a professional Sherpa ;-)

Well I have a Vertex 200 that I carry the following:
D300 with grip
Nikon 24-70 2.8 attached and hood (not reversed)
Nikon 70-200 2.8 (hood reversed)
Sigma 10-20
Nikon 50 1.8
SB800
2 x Chargers
a few accessories
17" laptop (charger, mouse, external drive)
manfrotto Tripod with 866 (I think) ballhead

I do have a fair amount of room left over on it and I strip out most of the stuff once I get where I'm going - I normally carry
D300 with grip
Nikon 24-70 2.8 attached and hood (not reversed)
Nikon 70-200 2.8 (hood reversed)
Sigma 10-20
manfrotto Tripod with 866 (I think) ballhead

with me and while heavy, the harness is really comfortable and I can carry that for a day without any pain.

It gets real heavy with everything in it and won't fit in the overhead of the smaller airlines though. It's a decent bacpack and the most comfortable I tried. I would imagine the 300 is much the same only bigger.
