The next person that complains about no AF in video mode should be banned on the basis of stupidity. lol. Instead of posting drivel like that, go to a video forum and learn something or two about manual focus.

Offcourse it istn better with manual focus. Its a matter about money. It propably was easy to implement the video function from live view, but difficult to implement AF in video. So Nikon got some cheap points without ruining the economy in the project and is left with a not so usefull feature that gets hyped a lot.Why isn’t there AF in movie mode and why is manual focus better?
And contrast detection AF is probably to slow to get a real fast and reliable AF.Offcourse it istn better with manual focus. Its a matter about money.

I read elsewhere that after all, it might be only the aperture that is locked during video recording. And that AE-lock can be used.Lack of AF during video recording is not a big problem.
However, it seems like both aperture, shutter speed and iso are
locked during recording. THAT is a limitation!
Are we still allowed to complain about the inclusion of video mode on a still camera? And how idiotic it is to saddle a high-end semi-professional camera with a cheap, quasi-functional amatuer feature? The next person that complains about no AF in video mode should be
