Which Nikon macro lens for the D100 is equivalent to a 90mm macro lens as used with a 35mm film camera? Is it true that such a macro lens can be used as a standard lens? I'm a bit new to this lens business.

The Nikkor AF 60/2.8 Micro will have equipvalent FOV of a 90mm in 135. However, I'd go for the AF 105/2.8 Micro for getting more space between the subject and the front of the lens.

I do most my work in studio so I am getting a Fuji S2 and the 85 Nikkor Micro PC, it has shift and tilt movements, very hi f.stop and very very sharp. The only problem is that the lenss needs to be modified so that shif and tilt work paralel..

Good idea Frank,

I found the 85 too long in my studio on the the Fuji S1 (1.5x). I like the 60 mm micro Nikkor that I now have but that one is too wide on my film bodies. I vote for a 60mm shift but I think I am probably dreaming. I might even go for a 55mm Micro Nikkor and do the perspective corrections in Photoshop. (And pay the price of lost image detail). The distance to the subject with any lens is also 1.5 times greater when using it on the D100 and S2 so comparing with film bodies is a bit of a waste of time.

Rinus, I have an E-10 with the equivalent to 35-140 and very good macro. I use the 140mm end of it all the time, -or most the timi- when doing macro and other tabletop.

Now, the 85 translate to a 127.5 if my calculator is ok. If it works the same as my E-10 this is perfect for me, I have the 85mm 1.8 so when I finaly get the S2 I will try the 85 and then deside.

The best would be a 35-100 Micro Macro PC Zoom no?
