I am the most amazing photographer in the world, and I have done every magazine cover you have ever seen in your entire life!!!!!!!!!!!! NEWBIE, NEWBIE, NEWBIE, NEWBIE! You are not even worthy, NEWBIE, to speak to me, NEWBIE, DIE liberal newbie scum!!!!

There, why don't you just cut and paste that into everything you say from now on Michael. Then you don't have to bother actually typing any of the nonsense pouring out of your mouth. That pretty much sums up all you have to say on any subject.

Fuzzy flector...Oh my God, now i know my assumprtions were right...
Don't knock it if you haven't tried it, and you can't try it if you don't build it.

I just like the idea of having a reflector I don't need to hold, or hire an assistant for every time I want to shoot. I already know there has to be some adaptation for it to work. All things being equal, the light comes up from ground level, which can cast some pretty gnarly shadows.

But the results I've seen from those that use it are good enough that I have to at least give it a try. I'm just not willing to spend $125 to figure out how to hinge a couple pieces of insulating board.

Light stand + reflector holding arm + reflector can be a bit unwieldy if the wind kicks up. Been there, done that...

So?

People are buying what they want at the price/quality/speed they want/can afford.

Every one has a stove but many make fortunes in the restaurant business.

There are still people that will pay $50 or more per person for a good meal while others feel that paying extra for bacon on the burger is going wild.

Don't be the burger guy, be the fine restaurant.

Hope your business gets better.

For me his reflector is too cumbersome for my style and speed plus it
doesn't fit in my car well. It's not right or wrong-it just depends
on how someone works.
From what I've heard, Fuzzy's "classic" design uses a 4x8 sheet of insulating foam cut in half for each part. Evidently, in some of his seminars, he's been cutting the sheets into thirds to stretch materials. This seems to be much more portable, at the cost of a little bit of light.

There are some other "mods" or adaptations going around that I've found in my research. Using insulation board that has an aluminized side, instead of the original mylar reflector. White foamcore instead of white ripstop nylon.

Yeah, I know with every presentation, "take what you like and leave the rest." Works here, too.

If the customer is happy, what is the problem?

Oh come on, that's just crazy. What the h&ll do customers know about good photography? Their not photographers. You must be one of those newbies that everyone here keeps talking about.

Oh come on, that's just crazy. Then what good is it to provide something your customers don't value?

Funny, because I created a lightweight lightbox years ago...but at the time there were only a few photo mags and no internet and no digital wizards of oz, I never put it on the market, but back then the profession was more professional.

...it enough to pay a piece of my mortgage.

If you read my posts and see the valid assumptions that assume that those who don't want to progress past photographer as ditch digger, then you are lost !

I've found in life that when i am thinking something creative others also are tuned into the "collective unconscious" So...my intent is make other who are thinking the same way, (and there are some) to pick up the ball on this and run with it...believe me, someone just might !

How would you know are you a commissoner for the latest incarnation
of a re-education camp ? Why do you care ? newbie !
Ah, when there isn't a logical argument......

You made the cry for help. Some, or as you have seen with your latest proposal, most, won’t necessarily agree with the corrections you seem to think need to be made. Checking you website, an alternative in your case might be to become less embarrassed to showcase your work, and strive to be the profession you desire to be as evidenced by your somewhat over representation of your abilities.

A good start might be to hire a professional web page designer to help you out. It’s kind of like photography where lots try, but not necessarily in an outstanding manner. Your intro page is great, but the senior section looks cluttered, and you showcased a lot of junk. Cull the stuff that makes a garage photographer look good in comparison and highlight the great stuff, of which you appear to have a great deal. Scrap the music, or at least set things up so the music doesn’t re-start every time someone checks out a photo. You also need to look into some consistency of layout between pages, and a better navigation structure. Again, get a pro involved, and who knows, he might even explain the e-mail thing to you for free….

Anyway, I leave you with that last input. It was a misunderstanding on my part that you might actually be looking to improve the status of either yourself, or photography as a whole. As for being a “Newbie”, why thank you for the compliment.

Also remember, a salt shaker is a place to keep salt, and I can tell from your BS posts that anyone talking to you needs a very large one.

Blarg, newbie, Michael D Robinson is just my alias, and that definitely isn't my real email address, newbie liberal aargh!!!

I have news for you man, but I am a pro who saw changes coming 10 years ago, so I did not follow trends, I started a few and will continue to do so.

And no, the soccer moms and weekend wedding hacks don't affect me because I stopped shooting that kind of stuff when I was 19.

I am not sure what you do Michael, weddings I assume....but if you are really feeling the pinch this bad, you are probably too late at becoming a much better businessman and photographer.

Might be time to consider another "profession" because truly brilliant photography only happens when one goes beyond the hobby or even profession level and it becomes your life, who you are, what you breathe. When it is like that, you have no choice but to strive for greatness, it is simply who you are and you will not let anyone or anything get in the way of your being.
