WOW! Great Remote Deal!!!

These kind of remotes have been on ebay for years.
That is probably true. I know I picked a similar one up from deal exteme months ago. But at the time I'd not heard about the deal there before. It's nice to have a wireless remote for under 5 bucks shipped to your door. At that price you could have a spare.
This is a valid post if it helps someone that is looking for a remote.

To the OP, you can't judge how many folks you've helped with your post by the responses you get. Unfortunately not everyone will respond that clicks the link and takes advantage of this deal.

I bought one similiar on Ebay a few months ago for around $20 Aus. It kept flattening batteries. I just bought a Pentax remote for $42 and hope this is a lot more reliable than the cheapie.

I originally purchased the Pentax brand for ~$40 US but it was too short for my needs so I bought one of these then cut and spliced in 10 ft of telephone wire. Now I have the length I need all for under $10!!

It's hard to beat $5 shipped. It works well enough. The good thing is it works for other cameras as well. For the Fourth of July, we took a group photo with 3 different cameras (my K10d, and brothers' Canons) and one remote. Each camera had a different view/lens and the results were pretty fun.

I'm not sure if this works on bulb setting though... I've never tried that.

This company is legit, has other FANTASTIC deals, too! They import
tech stuff from China, I guess.

DealExtreme's a pretty cool site - their flash-mounting shoe things are really nice - much cheaper (£5 vs £30), lighter and more secure than using a Hama shoe and Manfrotto stand head:

(for mounting a flash on to a lighting stand; also has a hole for inserting an umbrella)

They also do shoot-through umbrellas:

£4 certainly beats paying £25 for the equivalent in places like Jessops.

Nice, but you quote prices in GPB and the site gives dollars (I assume USD), so surely those of us on the Western side of the Atlantic lose because of the shipping across the pond?

Pentax Wireless Remote Control C $3.99
Yeah, I bought that one, via amazon, a few months ago. The remote's been working just fine for me. (Used with Pentax K10D.)

A few months before that, I'd made a purchase from Deal Extreme (directily, not via amazon), of an SDHC USB 2.0 Card Reader. A tiny little thing, about the size of a car key. See-thru, and guaranteed SDHC compatible. Cost me all of $2.99, with free shipping. I've been using it mostly with 4GB PQI and 8GB Transcend SDHC cards. I'm satisfied with it. It's still available, if anyone's interested - http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.6858

I don't know that I'd buy a $3000 LCD tv from Deal Extreme, but I wouldn't hesitate to buy a $3 electronic gadget from them.

It would be fun if 20 cameras (diff brands) firing the same time. Anyway I got this from ebay around say $8 all inclusive . It can fire up my k100d 80 ft away (not off axis and it is not a typo). If it is off axis by 45 degreee, it can only do around 5 ft away.

I obtained one of these and was impressed with how quickly it got to me here in the UK.

I have one which is slightly different to the one illustrated in this thread. Jianisi RC 4. Buttons appear the same but laid out differently with just initials for each group and letters rather than full names e.g. C, N, P and K/M.

Instructions look comprehensive but are not. Under the P group there are two buttons S & W/T but there are no instructions what these mean or when and how they are used.

Has anyone found out yet? I don't have a need to use it at the moment but I'd like to be ready when the need arises.
Thanks
James

I posted this before but no-one seemed to read it - I found that a Samsung VCR remote control works on the GX10. No, no fast forward or rewind, just triggers the shutter! As it was lying around, cost me nothing at all. Seemed like good value at the time.

DealEtreme also have a wired remote complete with half-press AF and metering, and a locking funtion (great for bulb shooting). Mine is in the mail, and a friend has received his and loves it.

Bdery,

Have a nice wait! Mine took nearly 2.5 weeks from order to door. Works on my K200, but the plug is a little tight going in and out.

Have a good one!

No problem really, I'm in no hurry. Shipping is usually fast (relatively speaking) from Hong Kong to Canada. My friend got his remote fast, so I have good hope. But I'm not in any kind of hurry. I just want to use it for long exposures, I have a Palm OS remote package for the trigger.

I prefer that to too loose ;)
