I don't just want to file them away, I want to see them from time to time. So I made them into a video and run the video as a screensaver on my computer. That way, I see them every time I come back to the computer.

Outstanding, creative use of of oob--- The technicial application ain't shabby either!!!

The ones where you have people looking at the out of bound shot just blew me away!!! Ii had to stop, and take a minute to figure out how you did them.
Thanx for posting.

Hi Buzz,

What I know about OOBs I learned here and from Serator's tutorial and practice, practice, practice.

Thanks.

Paul

Thanks so much for sharing your work. I enjoyed it so much last night that I was inspired to try it on one of my own photos (below).

I was wondering exactly how you go about creating the shadow. Mine took more time than the rest of the edit and it looks terrible! Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Scott

The shadow is just a duplicate of the photo, then turned to black, blurred, and faded. I learned from following Serator's tutorials. He has a web site and you can download both of his tutorials as well as look at his many OOB examples.

Kudos from the master are greatly appreciated. I haven't done any OOBs for awhile but I am now inspired to do some more.

I just looked at my video hosting page and saw that 159 people have looked at this video. That is more than any other video I've ever posted. I assume that most of them followed the link in this thread to get there.

Perhaps others may try stringing still photos together into a video.
Captain...your vid is too cool! Enjoyed the music as well...very well
done!!

Nice work too on all your OOB's.

Thanks for sharing it.

I don't really lurk in this forum much. The last time I did it I ran across a thread on OOB and it got me down a road I had to travel in order to try it and spent many hours playing around with pictures.

There are many talented people on this forum and the viewing the work makes me want to get my feet wet and jump right in and try it all. The problem is lack of time to do everything I need to do.

So now I stumble across this thread. OOB, one of my favorite subjects when it comes to picture manipulation.

Outstanding work! I watched the video twice and now I have a picture that I'm gonna spend some time on.

I say curse you because now I'll beat my head against the wall some more to try and learn some more of this technique when I should be doing other things!

Oh well you have to have fun also.

Thanks for sharing.

Never underestimate the power of stupidity, Especially when alcohol is involved.

I post pictures to share with others. In the unlikely event you find you want to steal one of my photos and make money off of it then do me a favor SEND me alittle of it, Thanks.

I saw your comment on your viddler page that says "I notice that a few of them are zoomed so close that you can't really see the OOB aspect. I used a program called Microsoft Photo Story 3 to create this masterpiece. "

I like Photo Story a lot (especially the price :), and you CAN control the zoom. Just go to the shot you want to change the zoom on, and you can tweak the beginning and ending positions of the "slide" window. If you want more specific instructions, email me - nkay at virginia dot edu - I have Photo Story on my other pc, and I'll bring it up and write you a step-by-step so you can see your whole image, OOB and all.

Those are really great. I love the ones of the guys painting and the little boy on the mulch toward the end. They are all great though. You have a really great eye for these.

Thanks Nota!

I was about ask Harry what program he used, I DL'd it and did a 7 pic test video, quickly! No sound, text or changes.

This could become a new 'Time' black hole as i play with it. But it will be Fun!

And I see it could be a great marketing/sales tool.

I really appreciate all of the nice comments. There is nothing that encourages a photographer more than a few kudos from other photographers. Thank all you very much for taking the time.

If anyone wants to take a closer look at the individul OOBs, you can click on the link to my Photobucket album which is down at the bottom of this posting.
