Tim,

Nice shot here! Where is this? It somehow seems vaguely familiar to me. Anyway, I like the sepia color job on this one. You are really doing a lot of work in your digital dark room. I like the stuff you've been doing.

PS: Have you been to that Vines Botanical Garden that Gladys was talking about? We may need to check that one out next time we get a day off together.

Can you list the steps you did to create this. It's really neat. I
am assuming it's a photo you manipulated in PS ?
Gandalf ,

I use Corel , but I'm sure PS will do it. I used the "Local Equalization"
tool on the whole image. I'm not sure what this tool was intended
for , but I stumbled on it and like it. Most of my "manipulated" pics
start with this. Next I use the "Plastic" filter that gives it a bit of a
"shadowy" effect , depending on the settings. Then I just used
"desaturate" to convert to B+W . It looked very good that way
but I just decided to give it the sepia look with a little color balance.
Corel doesn't have a sepia filter.

Thanks,

Erg , I did not build this. It was not that attractive in real life either.

Jim,

Well , you hit this one on the head ! It is in Vines . I believe it was
MaryB that asked about it. She lives near me . Beware of her though,
she will get your picture even if you don't think she's around ! LOL
She managed a couple of 3d candids at the drag races a while back.

It is a very nice place , but I only spent about an hour there. I was
the only one there ! It costs $5 and is on the "honor" system. It's
in Loganville. I thought it had closed down some time ago , but it
did not . I think it may have lost some of it's funding. It has a nice
restaurant overlooking the lake and a gift shop.

I think springtime would certainly have been the time to go there , as
there wasn't much for flowers except for the ever present lilies. There
was some neat "architecture" around the grounds though. Various
statues and old columns , gazebos and gates and other neat stuff. I
thought it was pretty cool even without much for flowers. There
were many "shots" there , I just didn't spend enough time , as I was
on the way to a ball game.

Tim

You are getting just to good for me. I will now trash my camera and go back to flying model plane's. LOL

Great shot Tim

I'm sorry! Draw & quarter me, Drag me over the coals, Stick knitting needles in my eyes ( don't ya hate that? ) But I can't imaging that looks better than if it were color....Now it just looks like it was taken at the turn of the last century...Again, I'm sorry I just had to let that out....

MaryB,

I am so sorry for the mixup! Please accept my sincere apology!

As for a visit to Vines, I think I'll take Tim's advice and try to schedule a visit for another time of the year when more is in bloom. Even my nearby Callaway Gardens has very little in bloom right now. :(

For a photo day trip, I think I'll consider revisiting the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. Heve you been there? The orchid exhibit is awesome and worth the trip! The other offerings are neat too. Tim and I met there a few months back and had a great morning shootout. He won, of course. He is also a two-timing, cheat....He left me for a .....

FROG!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Again, sorry about the name mix-up. I promise, it will not happen again!

I think it's worth 5 bucks. Definitely in the spring ! I'm sure it's
much more colorful then. I really didn't stay long , but I really
did like it. I just don't know why I haven't been there before
in the last 20 years !

Well I bet from what Ergo says you could rebuild it and make it prettier! LOL

Yes, I am the guilty one.. Gladys is innocent..But then maybe she's not..(o:

Tim, the only reason I got you at the track was that I knew from your other shots from there, you shoot from that side... almost NOBODY is ever over there...and then with that UZI... How could I not see ya.. besides..I had mine and that 10x zoom was helpful.. ha-ha. I need to check out some of your shots that you have the stands in the background from that day and see if I can find me! LOL
It is a very nice place , but I only spent about an hour there. I was
the only one there !
That was probably a great thing... nobody getting in your way!!! LOL

did not . I think it may have lost some of it's funding. It has a nice

Tim, you could become a member and help fund the place back to it's original glory! (o:

Maybe some weekend I might have to go check it out.. as it's just "down the road" from me....How did the game go? Win?

... I'll never smile again ! LOL

Billy, that was a great shot . Yours was a great photo , mine was
not . My shot however , lends itself better to this effect than a
flower shot would of course. I'm no stranger to a "colorful" photo
however and now , neither are you ! Try to keep an open mind
and stick with me on this , I'll make you a "star" ! LOL
