Which brand has the worst fanboy zealots?

Nothing is more fun than watching the few film haters respond to my
posts only to have it go unread.

Drives them crazy that some people choose to you both film and
digital.....and that for some things we like the look of film. The
other difference is that one of us sells our prints.....while the
Black Knights have nothing to show us but for attacks and insults.

Funny eh?

Ah, Shay son of Che, it is clear logical thinking is one of the tools at your disposal...as well as a grace of wit.

But this mumble is mostly a test of sorts. The sharp-eyed will notice the evaporaton of a sub-thread. One that passed through a shoulder rubbing response of Joe to Chris, then on to one I worded with great fun and admiration to Joe. And then onto?

Sigh, a loss. No one will know why Joe is to be referred to as "Sugar". Yes, a progression from The Black Knight. But if you can read this, Shay son of, then I am not banned and dreams may still be fulfilled.

Best,

Ed

'Good composition is only the strongest way of seeing the subject. It cannot be taught because, like all creative effort, it is a matter of personal growth. In common with other artists the photographer wants his finished print to convey to others his own response to his subject. In the fulfillment of this aim, his greatest asset is the directness of the process he employs. But this advantage can only be retained if he simplifies his equipment and technique to the minimum necessary, and keeps his approach free from all formula, art-dogma, rules, and taboos. Only then can he be free to put his photographic sight to use in discovering and revealing the nature of the world he lives in.'

Yup, the random and transient nature of these things is appealing

Looks OK, no sign of a finger pointing to the door or a voice that says 'nevermore'.

And, of course, the important question, if an anti-fanboy collides
with a fanboy at the same point in spacetime, will they destroy each
other?
They cancel eachother out.... violently.
Yet remember, one has no meaning without the other. So sad, and yet somehow so sweet (sigh)

Ah, doomed romance that cannot be...

...precisely because people might consider it a thinly veiled attack on a specific forum, rather than generally poking fun at the way fanboys of all brands tend to come out in force after a perceived 'bad review'.

This one has been especially grating on me lately. These people know so much about pixels, it kind of freaks me out. I think back to what Robert Rodriguez once said: "A creative person can learn the technical stuff, but a technical person can't learn how to be creative." Then I look at the debate raging in this thread:
http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1021&message=28842274

And I think, he was probably right. And I wonder what planet some of these people are coming from.
There are different kinds of fanboys / zealots etc...
3.) The know-it-all camera geek who knows every intricacy of digital
imaging technology, and who always pops up when a full-frame versus
DX versus 4/3 debate pops up. These people usually get no more than
three comprehensible words out before they slip into an impenetrable
jargon of electronics terminology and physics theory that no
right-brained artist could ever understand... Olympus definitely has
it's share of these! But Foveon has many as well, as does Fuji, and
Canon / Nikon, but more like FX versus DX in that scene...

Wow. That is a freaky one alright.

Can you remove the bad reviews too? ;)

Someone couldn't take the critique, run with tears in his eyes and hit the complain button. Must have a sensitive soul.

Same here. Apparently all my work isn't even good enough for the beginner's forum. I'll be fine with my sales without his critiques ;-)

I'll be out with a friend's M8 this weekend to give it a whirl. I also grabbed a couple of rolls of Delta 3200 for my Voigtlander Bessa R2a to keep it fed on the streets at night. Between the two, it should be fun.

By the way, I enjoyed the shots on your blog.....even if it's not up to Joe's standards. Unfortunately, as none of these critiques post any of their work, it is hard for the rest of us to learn how it's really done ;-)

Still waiting for you to prove that I lied. You couldn't find anything , could you?

I challenge you to invite forum members to critique your web site images as well as this work of art http://members.shaw.ca/cheryl.dewolfe/wedding/

You keep twisting facts and play loose with truth. You accused Dennis with fraud, you did it with malice. You knew that it was a bogus accusation that stemmed from your envy. You are gutless, you don't have the decency to apologize. Shame on you.

I don't know but it is awful sad when a brand is part of someone's personal identity.

Its like we are the cars in a NASCAR race or something.

It seems to me that with the fanboys on this forum the smaller the brand's marketshare the fiestier they are.

Just briefly visited your blog. Nice stuff. That one prime exercise is an interesting thing. Will explore your site more as time allows.
