While at a wedding a week or two ago, I snapped this picture that I think the bride and groom would really appreciate having. I'd like to give it to them, but as you can see, I had too slow of a shutter speed, and the man and the boy are too blurry.

Any suggestions on a way to redeem the photo? Any effects you can think of that might either eliminate or compensate for the blur? I'm very open to ideas!

You might try focus magic.

You could also use a substantial amount of high pass sharpening if you own software that does this.

No matter what you do though, you are unlikely to get a really good result (maybe something you could print at small size though).

Good luck,

Jon

S/H, focus magic> motion and oof, high pass, some cloning artifacts.... blowout fix on head...

If you don't have focus magic, try Shadows/Highlights on shadows with little radius. Then Smart Sharpen in motion blur mode and a highpass layer.

Not easy. Motion blur sharpen, Topaz clean, some PWL, a little cloning, glare reduction. Certainly not perfect but hope this helps.

Jack

How did you do yours, Tom C? That looks pretty good, considering what it started out as.

Both Focus Magic and CS Unsharp on seperate layers, cloned to cover the blurred fingers, hair, etc., contrastcurve to lighten.

I used a combo of Topaz Vivacity Sharpen and High pass sharpen. The High pass sharpen layer I set at 30% opacity.

go black & white, heavy grain , like you meant to do it;-) I think it would really clarify the point of the image as well, as the color in the photo adds little IMHO.

(and this is from someone who thinks way too many people overdo B&W, but in this case I think it will work well).

These are better than I thought. Some seem to have very little blur!

In addition to trying to remove the blur, I've been trying to come up with different filter effects that would minimize the prominence of the blur. Any thoughts on any of those to try?
