Issue with LX3: darker than LX2 with proof.

Same shots, but different shutter speeds. Some EXIF data at the bottom. In all the pics, the LX3 had a much higher shutter speed. Not sure why it was set up this way, but the results are not related to the sensor, but rather the shutter speed, which of course can be controlled by the photographer.

Beside the obvious stop of exposure difference Id say the LX3 has a much better dynamic range.

Is the higher shutter speed not the purpose of the F2 lense. If we can not shoot the same ISO faster what is the point.

understatement.
You need some patience.
Some one pointed this out in a earlier post, then was knocked down by
people who said it was the room lighting in the bunny/cactus
pictures. If you view the site below with "real world" photos taken
on the same date you will clearly see that the LX2 is indeed brighter
than the LX3 which is an issue that will prevent me from buying the
LX3.

You can't be serious. If you use the same aperture, but faster shutter speed with the same ISO you should get a darker picture. It doesn't matter what the maximum aperture of the lens is if both are set at f/4.5.

Take a look at the sky in the last two, I agree with some one who pointed out that the LX3 has a better dynamic range.

"A Total Lack Of Understanding About EV Is Evident"
Well, why not?

We see so many posts here & there which lack understanding about apertures & shutter speeds, often - it seems - by someone who wants "full manual control" - why not EV, too?

We all need to wait until some fearless pioneer actually acquires one of these, and tries it out, and preferably compares it with some earlier cameras.

Right now, it's all smoke & mirrors.

The LX3's F/2.0 lens could be very helpful when shooting in lowlight... For example... Instead of F/2.8 ISO 400 -- you could rather shoot at F/2.0 ISO 200... That's a one stop advantage -- same exposure BUT less noise.

I don't own a Panasonic but I'm anticipating the release of the LX3. I agree that this camera has a greater dynamic range than the LX2 which will prevent the blown highlights that the LX2 is demonstrating in the link above.
