The President and Vice President are two mountains in Yoho National Park, Canada that are named for the president and vice president of the Alpine Club of Canada which had one of it's first climbing camps in the area. Last weekend I climbed these two wonderful peaks via the President Glacier. We left our camp at 04:00 and was on the first summit before 08:00. The DP1 was once again perfect for this kind of trip. It's small enough to easily carry and can operate at higher ISO's which is nice for early morning photography.

Here's some samples of why I love this little camera!

Ascending the glacier early in the morning. Alpine glow on the President in front of us:

Getting higher toward the col between the President and Vice President:

The bergschrund is huge for such a small glacier:

Beautiful summit view:

View of the President from the Vice President (3 people descending the snow on the President):

Almost off the glacier, storms moving in:

Last look before heading home:

Beautiful shots Vern: Thanks for sharing. You are right, that DP1 is remarkable as is the scenery and the work of the photographer.
Cheers,

If you can see the light, you can photograph it

Did you have anything to protect the dp1 from snow, and wetness and such? I don't have a dp1 but from what I read, it does not have any kind of weather seal protection. Tia for your responses, great shots btw, colors and details are excellent!

I only have the lens adapter on it with either nothing on the end or a CPL when the conditions are right. I wear a gore-tex jacket when / if it rains and I simply put the camera in my pocket to protect it. Can't do that with my 5D! :-)

Thanks everyone, for your kind words!

The second one is a dream to watch!

... he, and a nightmare to watch if you think that you're behind your desk, working, and not being able to be there etc... :)

But thanks for that lovely break!
