Well we returned today from our vacation. I would like to share with you the area that we visited. It boasts some of the most beautiful scenery. We have visited over many years and are always inspired by its majesty.
- 1. Blyde River Canyon- this part one runs out of adjectives to describe the beauty of the mountain scenery and panoramic views.
- 2. This little snake Ernest saved from a cat. It is called a ‘skaapsteeker’, which translated means ‘sheep sting’.
- 3.We stopped at a roadside tourist spot for gifts. This was the potter.
- 4. Potter’s wife.
- 5.Pottery wares.
- 6. Bourke’s Luck Potholes. This is where the Treur River (River of Sorrow) meets the Blyde River (happy / cheerful river) and these surreal rock carvings are the product of water erosion over thousands of years.
- 7.Mountain flowers.
- 8. Coral tree, it gets these magnificent flowers before it gets leaves, when the flowers finish then the leaves appear.
- 9. Pink wild flowers. I am always amazed that in the dryness of our country we have these beautiful little flowers that are growing everywhere.
Cheers.
