Thanks.

This was done all in Painter, using Just Add Water for the skin, Grainy Water for clothes and hair, and diffuse watercolor for the background. Also in Painter I always increase the Saturation, also increase the reds and yellows to give it a painterly effect.

The glow comes from Effects > Focus > Super Soften, which gives the glow effect, which you can increase or reduce.

Talking about Efex Pro, heard a lot of talk about it, I might add it, but it is quite expensive for $ 299, but U-point helps to get the work done fast.

Thank you! I hope you find the action usefull. Play around with the layer opacities and different layer modes and you can get all kinds of interesting results. Thanks for letting us retouch your pretty wife.

Your wife is very photogenic (and you are a fortunate man). I think you're headed in the right direction. Your version follows my bias toward diminishing the background and pulling the light into the face.

A whole bunch of steps to this. If you want the .psd file with all the layers, send me your email address and you can gladly have it.

Used the clone tool and healing brush on the face and to touch up some of the flyaway hairs. Used the lasso tool to select the eyes and used curves to lighten the eyes and add some contrast. Duplicated the layer and median blur to blur the skin. Backed off on the opacity of the blurred layer to allow skin texture to show through. Added a layer mask to the new layer and painted with black to bring back detail in the lips, nostrils, eyes and eyebrows. Used color balance to make final adjustments to the skin tone. Final adjustment with curves for brightness and contrast.
Have a good one!
