...something made me think of my first picture (actually number 79, but the first I kept) taken with my CP880. I guess you recognize what it is?

...and believe me...it's hard to come up with any good arguments to make your girlfriend just "sit still so that I can get this cool shot"!

Best regards,
Kjetil

880 with a microscope? I think is a mosquito ... or a monster gone out of a fantasy film?

After shooting some pictures of different kinds of insects out there through the macro lense of my CP880, I no longer get irritated by them only terrified! If you look closely you can see it's sucker is completly red of BLOOD!

You really do have a very special girlfriend if she will be eaten by insects in the cause of your photography!

If I had asked my wife to do that, I would have probably been the one red with blood.

Seriously though, Its a superb shot. We get similar flies in the UK, but I don't know their names.
Regards,
Ken

Lol...

Except I wasn't quite as cruel as you. Where would we be without our girlfriends? : -)

Hey I think I've seen this fly before.

A good way to take pictures of flies is to sneak up on them whitout them noticing you and then take the picture! :)

No seriously, if you first stun them with your flash they are more likely to stay put, and sometimes it works well if you can blow on them at the same time taking the pictures.

Nice photo by the way...

Do you see the difference ?
He has a girlfriend, you are married ;-)
This is true love !

Well considering the verbal abuse I was getting while I was tasking the shot. I think I did a pretty good job. : -)

Btw... really good pic of that fly.

Hope you like these pictures. Had a tough time taking these shots holding the camera with one hand while this fellow sucks away on the other.

Very nice pictures of these nasty little suckers! You can see that the body is getting heavier from the first to the last picture. :) Thanks!
Did you get it afterwards?

Very good!

How much did your girlfriend donate to the Mozzie for that photo? (Blood that is!)

:-)

That is a very sharp photo from the front through to the back... do you know the f setting you used? Was it f7 or something like that?

Yours sincerely,

It is f11.3 at full tele, but the mystery is that the CP880 only has a focal lenght of 20mm and this picture is taken at 36mm focal lenght. I suddenly realised that I had used 0.8 digital zoom. I don't regulary use digital zoom, never actually, but since this was my 79'th picture taken I didn't know better back then. I didn't notice this before know...funny though!

Thanks for your comment Kjetil. Do you mean to ask if I took these pictures after you posted your pictures? If that's so, no. I took them in November last year.
