I just wanted to tell you the fireworks are going to be the 3rd-6th this year! Cripes I thought it was always July 1-4 and I watched the news tonight and it sounded like the fireworks were going to be Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights! Ha, well how do ya like that!!

So I do hope you will all read this and just to try and make sure you all do I will e-mail you all too.

So after going to the Taste of Minnesota's website I can confirm the fireworks are still 4 nights in a row but they are the 3rd through the 6th! SO, I will see you on the roof any one of those nights.

Well, we had a good time last night but, I for one felt disappointed that the fireworks only lasted 10 minutes for some reason. It was advertised to last 25 minutes. So I don't know about anyone else but my shots flopped. I think I got 3 good shots and then I must have bumped my focus ring when I turned the camera to vertical possition and the rest were all OOF Sheesh!!!

I saw Heber's shots in his camera and his were really great looking in the camera so he might be the only one with shots to post so far...

My friend Karla joined us and although she uses a canon her knowledge of cameras and post processing, and friendship is priceless. I really am glad she enjoyed hanging out with us last night and I'm quite sure she's going to be back the next 3 nights.

So, Herbert...feel free to post a few of your favs here or start us a new fireworks thread and we will hopefully get some close to as nice as yours tonight! Oh and can't wait to see everyone tonight again!

Don't forget GOLD RAMP on Smith and Chestnut, near Cossetta's in Saint Paul

from night 1, and it's okay but I definately needed the practice for tonight! So tonight I hope to do much better. I'm going to use the 50-200mm tonight and see how that goes.

You just never come see us any more :o)) hahaha! Sure would be great to have a get together in your neck of the woods! I bet you could really show us the sights around Vancover or along the coast.

We'll have some shots to share for sure.

Are you guys still going to be there on the 6th (Sunday night)? I'm in Roseville and I thought I might try some fireworks shots.
 
I am so sorry! We were there on Saturday Garry and now I'm sure you wont see this message. If either of you are going to be in town Sunday I would love to meet you both. If I hear from you we will come up on Sunday night, if not sheesh I wish I had a way to contact you both. Garry how I wish I would have known you were coming. I didn't even check this thread until 2am Sunday! I need to get to bed now too. Drat what a bummer if I missed you and Yes we were up on the gold ramp garage for the Saturday night fireworks. Again they were only 10 minutes long. I was very disappointed. Friday night they were near 30 minutes long though. Heber started another post with shots we'd taken...Please add yours too if you took some Okay? And if either of you have access to the internet and get to read this shoot me an email if you can before noon.

Well, I will be out of town from the 11-16 (we're going to Grand Marais and then Indiana, of all places), but after that, if there are any meet ups, I would love to go. I am also going to the roof of the parking garage tonight.
 
You don't know a Maria Frisch, by any chance, do you? She lives in the Twin Cities too. I'm not sure how common a name Frisch is. ;)
 
if he had relatives up in northwestern MN around Winger, MN a good friend of mine was married to a Frisch. Her name was Jody and a Frisch by marrige. I can't for the life of me think of his name. I'll think of his name soon. I am quite sure his brothers name was Dave Frisch. We'll have to pick Tom's brain tonight at the fireworks. :o)

Are we still arriving at 8:30 (do the fireworks start at 9:30? I've never watched them here in the Twin Cities)?
 
I'm just now leaving so I'll be there at 9 and sorry I missed your question. I have company so just jump on here for minutes at a time. Well, I will see you there I'm sure.
