while I got not as many fireworks photographs due to poor preparation on my part (see my thread on fireworks in this forum,) I was very pleased with the street shots I got
by and large I used the 28 Summicron & M8 for these
here are three that will give you a flavor for the event

Texas women are a breed unto themselves

I love it when I can steal a photograph while someone is posing for another ...oftentimes you catch a favorable moment/angle by being a little bold

I did not connect with my subjects & I think I am better off

larger versions of these are available here ------> http://www.pbase.com/artichoke/clubbing&page=6 along with shooting information and some others from the celebration
hope you like

Hi Arthur, thank you for the Texas 4th of July impression.
Well I'm not sure what to think of it but it's a colourful event for sure.

You know your captions are as good as your pictures, especially the one that goes with that lady posing in the yellow dress ... :)
Kind regards.

this is where having a discreet camera is very useful

Ece, I agree with you that the second photograph is a sweet moment ...this one was taken from the hip, btw

I enjoy taking candids of pretty women & have a gallery devoted to this, though some are not all that candid
it is by far & away my most popular gallery
glad you liked these

1 is very crisp, nice, no2. texas women look pretty fine, no.3 the
guy has excellent tattoos, great job on using someone elses setup
from a different angle, it looks quite natural. cheers...paul
the lot of them were taken from the hip, though I prefocused on some

I doing better with the 28 focal length for such shots ...the 28 Summicron on the M8 is a grand tool for street photography, being close to the classic 35 mm on FF
