Macro...[big pics]...from the garden

You are the master of macro improvisation, as always well done. It's been said that you're Seth Brundle's favorite photographer.

AMAZING SHOTS!! I didn't even know spiders have four eyes. You just taught me that with your super detailed macro shot, thanks :)

Cheers,
Tony

Tempted by the incredible extreme close up images you make I bought myself a reverse ring "again". "Again" because I did about a year ago, gave up and sold it...
Now I'm trying to learn your technique with a reversed 35mm on my D3.
My questions:

Working with a reversed lens, does an extention tube allows you to go further from the object or closer? While actually without the extention tube I'm already VERY close, and insects often fly away...
Which extention tube do you recommend?

Thanks in advance.

Humility & admitting you still have stuff to learn proves wisdom, strength, & honor.

Only a knowledgeable person would do that.

So - - I stand by my words - - Be humble all you want, when it comes to macros you are a master.

Fantastic pictures MARK.

I can see your lens and finger on the aperture lever reflected in the eye(s) in no 4.
Cool stuff.

My macro endeavours havent got going yet this summer.

After looking at these, maybe I should just get on with landscapes and other stuff?? ; }

Can you show some 100% crops when you shot some reversed? I love to see what the D3 can do.

a little closer. I didn't measure it with all tubes but we speaking about mm here.

yep that is my problem too. lots of insects are camera shy. bad hairdays I guess.
Which extention tube do you recommend?
I have the $10 ones from ebay and they will do the job just fine.

cheers, Mark
Thanks in advance.

No way! macro is just to much fun. But so is landscapes. I wouldn't give up on either of them. If I had more time (or money) I would do a lot more landscapes.

cheers, Mark
