D300 for $899?

Scam, scam, scam. They are crooks. Do business with Adorama or B&H Photo and if it costs a few bucks more it's worth it to deal with reputable companies.

I will say I got a good deal on my original purchase of a D300 and 18-200VR however at Canoga Camera but really, 95% of my online photography shopping is at Adorama or B&H. When I bought from Canoga neither Adorama or B&H had D300's in stock.

I'm not affiliated with any of the above.

If the D700 was responsible for a huge price drop of the D300, why are they "offering" the D3 at only $2,500?

Doesn't make sense that the $3,000 D700 would cause the D3 to sell for less than a D700.

All I said is that they made BSD user friendly not Unix. Receiving the Unix certification does not mean it is derived from Unix. One can argue about that BSD was also forked from Unix and therefore the statement is right. However, saying that BSD is Unix to a hardcore BSD fan would lead to a long long discussion.

P.S. My favourite sentence from the article: "Mac users, realize that qualifying for UNIX is no small feat, especially for an open source, BSD-based OS."

I'm done trying to point out the painfully obvious to people. Human beings are so greedy and dumb that they will literally throw away money if they see a chance to score a deal. I just laugh at these poor sods now.

Read the comments on reseller ratings! It's hilarious that people get scammed so easily and then aren't embarrassed to post about it. I can't feel sorry for them, though the people who run these apartment-companies are beneath sludge themselves.

I'm pretty sure $899 is less than what the highest volume retailers have to pay to get it shipped from nikon. Pretty sure if you worked for Nikon you couldn't even get a D300 for that price.
