Where can I buy an Olympus B-300?

There is someone who buys them in Europe and sells them for a reasonable price, he has posted here, so do a search. It's legit, I bought one from him about 6 months ago, brand new units. I just don't have the paperwork any more.
I'd rather not buy from Ebay if possible.

Thanks!

EagleEyeUK had B300 in stock near the end of May, an alert was given in this forum and I bought one immediately! It seemed like they received about 6 in stock at the time...they go fast! Took about 1 week to receive through express mail. Check this link daily, you may get lucky, (upper right in red indicates the availability of the B300).

If it shows in stock, ACT FAST!

There is no reasonable price for that lens. It was a $90 to $100 lens when it was still being manufactured.

Ok, Eagleeye has them in stock, but I'm a little ignorant about the pricing thing. Where can I find a US price for UK £136.13?

Is buying there like buying from any US online retailer?

Thanks!

I spoke too soon, if you click the cart, it says they are out of stock. :(

Scott,

The B-300 was "never" a $90 to $100 lens. Someone may have purchased one at one time or another for $125 or so, but the MSRP was $225 and that's what I paid for mine when Fred Miranda and I first debated the issues of stacking lenses and posted the first digital images ever posted using the B-300. Any price below $200 for this lens is a good value...

Since I got my F707 about two months ago, I was in the market for an Olympus B-300, as this seems to be the 1st choice teleconverterfor this camera. I became aware of EagleEye from reading this forum. I signed up for their news letter so I could know if and when they ever got any more B-300s in. I would probably have bought one from them if they ever had more in, but I spotted an excellent used one on eBay for $120 Buy it Now, so I did. It was being offered by Henry's Camera in Toronto. I found them to be a great place to do business and my B-300 should be here in a few days. Don't rule out eBay arbitrarily. But there are a number of B-300s being sold there currently which are priced so high they must be the ticket to finance someone's speedboat. A typical auction on eBay ends with the B-300 going for $250 plus shipping. I think EagleEye would be less, even including the postage to the US and I would prefer that option had it arisen.

I am confused.

If this is indeed a highly suitable option for digital photography, why isn't there a more recent model being produced for this purpose specifically?

Surely its in Olympus' best interests to maintain popularity and produce a similar product for current technology needs?

I agree with you Vic, eBay is possibly the easiest way to shop globally.

Alex

think they no longer produce the camera that could use the teleconverter, that's why they dropped it.

maybe someone should petition Olympus?

Hmm... I own the Olympus IS3 camera that this lens was designed for. I bought that camera about 8 or so years ago. I wanted to buy the B300 for it at that time. I could swear it was a 90 to 100 dollar lens at the time. I am pretty sure that the tele and wide angle put together were about 200 dollars. I could be wrong, but either way 200 dollars is ridiculous for an add on tele extender anyway...

and I bought one new about 6 months ago in Taiwan for equivalent US$117 and I doubt we get better prices than the US here.

Perhaps it was becoming too expensive for Olympus to produce the way it was and they are tooling up for something else.

I agree, it's hard to unbderstand the market sometimes.

Sony must be cranking out so much new stuff they haven't had time to serve their current customers with accessories.

I just emailed Martin. Thanks for the info. I'll post here again as soon as I hear from him.

This doesn't really negate any other posts on purchase places though. If you know of a good place to get them at a good price, please post it here! :)

Well, I got a response from Martin...he has no more.

Is anyone else having any luck finding these? What's the best price I can hope to find one for?
