Avebury (large images)

Very nice thanks.

Great to see Silbury Hill again. I have a small piece of chalk from it that the rabbits had ejected over the fence :)

I've never gone above an 11"x14" with my 6mp K100D... but they looked great! My guess is that a 16"x20" would look almost as wonderful.

Try Mpix. com...

Again, wonderful photographs!

exp1orer,

Great set of shots - I absolutely love the contrast of the lush green next to the yellow in the fields! In regards to printing at 12x20 I don't think you should have a problem. I print up to 11x18 regularly from my DS - does require a bit of work in post to make sure image quality will stand up at that size, but not major issues.

If I might be able to make a suggestion, what i've done on several occasions when I'm out with a fixed 40 and need wide angles would be to meter the scene and average my exposure and throw it over to manual mode and pan the shots to stitch together. Takes a bit of practice, but I can give you the angle you require and effectively bump up your resolution for much larger prints.

Thanks for posting these - they're fab!

Cheers,
Libby

I am at a loss to add anything to the comments already made, but these are exceptionally beautiful pictures. You suffer a lot of rainy weather, but when the sun comes out the light in the UK is incredible. Thanks for posting.

...yes, I indeed picked the days considering that I live only 15 miles from that area.
OH!!!! Did you pick a great day or what? Never got out there when I
was in London, and had typical crappy Scottish weather when I hit
some of the rings in Grampain and the Orkneys and didn't want to
douse my AE-1 Program. I just love the colours, the **** seed fields
and the blue sky just work well together. Fabulous!!

Cheers,

Lloyd
