Effect on dioptre setting of magnifiers (O-Me53/Dk-21m)

Having looked around at quite a few past postings about viewfinder magnifiers, it seems that they have an effect on the dioptre setting. Is this always this case for both the o-me53 and dk-21m, or only if they are used on a different brand camera?

As I'm short sighted, I've already got my dioptre adjusted fully to the right (k100d), which seems to make everything fine. However, if my sight gets any shorter I'll run out of adjustments.

Am I right in thinking these magnifier as a side effect require the dioptre to set further too the left, so I will gain more future leeway?

Either way I'll be getting one, if only to keep my face off the lcd :p

Is it worth the extra cash for the Pentax or will the Nikon one serve just as well?

Same here--I have the diopter lever one click from all the way to the right, both with and without the O-ME53 magnifier. It doesn't seem to affect the setting one way or the other. I assume (but without any evidence) that the Nikon version would similarly have little or no effect.

I don't notice any effect in using the O-ME53. I do have a Seagull right angle finder and it does give quite a bit more adjustment. If worse comes to worse, you could use one in the 1X mode.

Thank you

Thanks for all the replies.
Guess I must be thinking about something else.
Doing a google search, I found a couple of posts about movie cameras, saying that you could take an old pair of glasses into a optometrists and have the lens ground into a shape for use in a camera. Maybe you could do the same.

Thank you
