Hi All,

I just wanted to say that after 4 days with the 601, I have no regrets about this camera. It is fast, solidly constructed and takes the most amazing macro pictures I have seen of any camera. The colours are great, there is no redeye problem (unlike the canon s30 I was using before) and the camera feels super-compact. The voice features are pretty cool too.

No regrets... and no freeze-ups yet.

I was just wondering if anyone knew where to get a case made for the 601? Can we use the 6800Z cases, or is there a better "fit" out there?

Thanks,
Terence

I'm using a small Tamrac case for my 601 - fits the camera perfectly & it has a belt loop. However, it doesn't have any spare room for an extra battery or SM card. I have an even smaller Tamrac case that holds that stuff on the other side on my belt!

BTW, are you hand-holding your macro's or are you using a tripod? I've had trouble with wind and not being able to hold the 601 steady enough to get sharp pics.

Thanks for the advice on the case....

I hand hold my Pics for my macro shots.... although, I think a tripod would be a really good idea...

I'm currently deciding between the S30 and F601, but with my previous dismal experience with an S330, will probably go for the F601. Just love the real to life colours, over the hyper staturated soft Canon look.

Just wondering if you have some examples of your macro pics?

Hi Terence,

I agree great camera. I have an extra leather Fuji FinePix case for the F601...

Hi Nick,

Is there a specific FujiFilm case for the 601? I can't seem to find it. I tried putting it in my 6800 case but it is a bit large. Where did you get yours? Are you looking to sell your case?

Thanks,
Terence

B&H Photo in NY sells 2 genuine Fuji cases for the 601: Here are the links:

The first link is the large (deluxe case) and the second link is the small case. Beware that the small one will fit the camera perfectly but has absolutely no extra room for even a SM card. The deluxe case looks like it has extra room inside.

I still like the Tamrac case - here's the link for that:

I think I have a Model 208. Enjoy!
