Sorry to hear about your problems, it's very frustrating - How long ago and how did you pay for it ( PayPal or CC & was it through eBay )? There should be enough evidence to confirm the seller received payment and as they offer some buyer protection and I could be wrong but, I would have thought that they would help recover your 'missing' refund!

I have bought a few items from Digitalrev - no problems. Always most helpful and you get to speak to a real live person, quickly if you have a query! Used by David Kilpatrick too - a professional with excellent reputation.

according to your history you seem to have more than your share of bad luck with your numerous photo purchases. What happened to the same camera model you ordered from Adorama?

I had a £500 lens off them last year from one of their tax-free offers. It arrived in much less than a week - maybe 4 days. When I received an invoice from the carrier for tax/import duty I scanned it and emailed it to DigitalRev and they refunded me in less than 2 days. I have heard no end of good reports about them and yours is the first bad thing.

Sorry to hear about your problems, my only advice is to really hard work them for an answer...

I've bought a D300, MB-D10 and 85mm f1.4 all with out a single problem and I found them very helpful with my questions.

I have used Digitalrev many times, including large and expensive items such as my Canon 300mm f/2.8

I have found them to be an excellent supplier with very good service and prices. I had to contact them to recover import duty on an item covered by a "no import duty" guarantee. I found them very helpful and they sent the refund promptly.

Check their feedback on eBay, most of the poor feedback seems to be from people that did not read the item listing correctly.

I hope you get you issue sorted out but I don’t think there is a better photography supplier on eBay

I have to come to their defence as well.

Bought my Sony A700 from them before it was released here in the U.K. on a "no VAT" offer. Took a bit of time to get the invoice from UPS, just scanned it and sent to them and the VAT was refunded inside 24 hours exactly as promised.
Oh yes - the camera arrived in about 4 days.

Excellent service, exactly as they advertised and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again or to recommend them.

First of all, THANK YOU to all customers who has rallied to give their accounts of service with DigitalRev. We appreciate your support and would do our best to serve you better in the future.

Regarding Kodak Z812 IS: Yes... it was out of stock. Yes... we failed to update the status for this item in a timely function. We apoligise for these unavoidable issues as sometimes stock situations changes drastically with sudden increased demands and our purchase team cannot do anything about it especially when the local market stock situation also fails to react.

HOWEVER, please give an honest account of the situation. We only had one situation corresponding to "no stock" for this item so I can safely presume I am referring to your case in the outline below.

Payment was confirmed received on 10th June. Within 72 hours, we had informed you of the camera’s unavailability and offered to refund your money. During the 72 hours, we have been in contact with you, informing you of updates to your order. On 14th June, you decided for a full refund.

As the original payment was made by bank transfer, we had requested your bank details in order to execute the refund. At this time, YOU DID NOT respond to our emails, so we were unable to return your money. ONLY by the 18th June, did you reply and provide your bank details. We had completed the refund within 24 hours of your reply.

We understand you are aggrieved that we failed to meet up to your expectations and we will look into how we can handle this better in the future. Please also note that as a courtesy to the forum host, DPreview, we do not believe in making any statements in their forum about our sales issues but only posted this time to refute misinformation. We can handle honest criticism and won't reply to them on public forums. Furthermore, it is purely happenstance that we were notified of this thread by a customer. If any of our customers wish to get a problem solved, I can categorically assure you that the best place to get our attention is through our Customer Service. Posting false, slanderous threads about us does not solve problems.

Please accept our apologies for not being able to give you a happy shopping experience as this really matters to us and this is something that most of our customers could attest to regardless of their opinion of us.

It's always nice to see a supplier give their side of the story, it's nice to see good service and I think you've just got to the top of my list for my next big purchase.

One's life is not measured by the two dates upon your tombstone, but how you lived the dash in between them

I'll stick up for them too. I made the mistake of changing my bank card on my PayPal account just before placing an order. This, of course, meant that PayPal wanted to deposit their two small amounts in my account to verify, which took two weeks. I did not realise this until I placed the order for a £700 camera from their eBay store, and the payment failed.

I e-mailed them explaining my predicament. All through this they were friendly and responsive courteous. When PayPal finally got their stuff sorted, I made the payment, and I had my camera a few days later.

To be honest, if I was selling something online, and a potential buyer gave me the story I gave them, I'd tell them to get lost. I will be visiting Hong Kong for the first time in a few months, and look forward to visiting the DigitalRev store.

Interesting to read their version of the story. Like just about every other responder in this thread, I have absolutely nothing bad to say about DigitalRev.

If their account is true, I hope you can own up to being a bit hasty in your criticism.....
