Maybe someone can help me...

I received my 7i on this last Thursday, and put the batteries in the Sanyo charger to charge for a few hours. As I was going to leave the batteries carging in the office overnight, and was worried that they would reach the end of the cycle (when the instructions say to unplug the charger at end of cycle), I moved the batteries to my Maha C204F and pressed the condition buttons.

When I came back in the next morning (Friday), I checked the charger and the lights were green, indicating a complete charge. I then loaded the camera and proceeded to play.

I took a few (half dozen shots) and also demo'd the camera to some coworkers, used it that afternoon a little and got on a ferry yesterday evening, shooting 4 or 5 shots more.

The count says that I've taken 12 shots and I would estimate that the camera was "on" with supposedly freshly charged batteries a total of 30 minutes.

I get to my friend's daughter's graduation last night, pull out the 7i expecting to take so great shots and...nothing. Zero, zip, nada.

I figured I somehow left the camera on in the new LowePro bag, but today I'm not so sure. I stopped by a Safeway to try to find lithiums, but ended up using my 4700z in less than optimal conditions.

When I got home last night, I put the batteries in the Sanyo charger and went to bed. (The Maha is at the office...) When I got up this morning, the LED on the charger was flashing red and the batteries were cold. I put them in the camera and got only the "flashing" battery indicator. The camera wouldn't turn on.

So I put the batteries BACK in the Sanyo charger and plugged it in. At first the LED was a steady red, but now it's flashing red. The instructions say that the LED is supposed to be red while charging and green when charged. The instructions say nothing about "flashing".

Any ideas? I'm afraid I may have ruined the batteries somehow. I plan on ordering three more sets of 1800mA AA's from http://www.thomasdistributing.com , but in the meanwhile, I'm, literally, dead in the water.

How long does the Sanyo take to charge?
Has anyone else seen the flashing red LED?
Does anyone's Sanyo go to a green LED when done?

Thanks!

Yes I have had the problem, also another person has reported the same problem, I have a european model and I guess your is US, the workaround is to remove the power plug and batteries and start again and it seems to work,

I tried unplugging the Sanyo charger, taking out the batteries and starting over.

I gave up and bought a set of four Duracell 1800 mA NiMH and a Duracell smart charger. At least the charger has a detachable cord and not a wall-wort, plus two status lights. The duracells measured 1.2V right out of the package, but I'm running them through a charge cycle anyway.

My charger turns red charging the batteries and turns green when done. It takes 260 minutes to do a complete charge. I have not seen a flashing red. So far my sanyo is working fine.
