I just got my camera today and for the life of me I cannot find where the setting is for a date stamp. (All the photos I take for my job must be date stamped) I did look thru most of the manual, but this is eluding me. Can someone please help?
Thanks

I think you want "Text stamp" on page 101, but i don't recall seeing a way to automatically stamp every image with date/time - just one image at a time

So, are you saying I have to take my photo, then go to Playback mode, choose Text stamp and individually have the date applied to each photo.??? There's no setting to just turn on or off date stamping as on both of my Kodaks?

Thanks!

This was discussed a while back, and I'm almost certain that nobody could find a "global" setting. You can always determine the date/time from the EXIF information, but I suppose that's an answer to a different question.

but i thought the camera had a option where the date would be there in the photo. Like when you take the picture, the date would automatically stamped?

That's exactly what I was hoping for. If anyone knows how to do that I would appreciate knowing it. I sometimes take over 100 photo a day for work and they MUST be date stamped. My 2 Kodaks do it automatically when date stamp is set to on, and when the tech specs for the FZ18 said it does date stamping, I thought that's what it meant.

So, if anyone knows about a setting to do it automatically.....

Thanks again for the quick responses.

Thanks so much for the info. Calling it text stamp instead of date stamp as on my other cameras threw me off. It still appears that each photo will individually have to have the date stamp applied after its taken. Or am I missing something here?

If that does not work as you wish, there are batch programs that can read the exif and then apply the time date and most anything else in the exif onto the photo....some can even add a border and put that info in the border......I did use such a program but I forget the name...... I think Photofun studio can do that.....but I have not tried.....

Just trying to learn and it's slow going!

Thanks for the suggestion. I may look into that if it gets too tedious doing it in camera.

(Is this the flaw that keeps the FZ18 from perfection?? : )

Thanks again for all the help!
