Am waiting to get delivery on my new sony DSC S75. I plan on getting a 128MB memory stick and wanted to know if it was recommende I stick with the Sony stick or will all sticks work the same. Same question for a memory reader. I was leaning toward a Sandisk multi reader and memory stick. Any Suggestions? By the way bought my DSC S75, which is now discontinued at Staples in store for $399 which at one time cost as much as $700.

For memory stick, there's 4 choices.

Sony
SanDisk
Lexar
I-O

Of the above, buy the cheapest one you can find. Many of us on the forum have tried the above and found that they are all about the same. A good price is around $59 for a 128MB. Sometime I-O stick have gone as low as $45 on sale.

Scott,

I don't have a reader, don't feel a need for one, hopefully someone else can reply to you. Have used the USB cable to download over 5000 shots and it has worked fine for me.

Many on this forum have indicated that the Dazzle reader is BAD in that it corrupts the pic on your memory stick. I would advise staying away from that brand. Do a search on "dazzle" if you need more info on that.
Any opinion on the Readers?

I just got 2 from the following site but they are on backorder now. The price was right ($59.00 + free shipping)

I own an S85.

I had originally bought the Delkin reader. After several tests (there is an entire thread on this subject in the STF) I concluded that the Delkin reader was consistently corrupting the 3rd frame on every stick. I switched to the Sony reader (Sears price match) and have not had a problem since.

This question has been discussed dozens of times. Are you too lazy to do a search?
