Hi There,

Just recently got married (whoooohoooo!), and we're getting a few of the pictures back from friends. I have been sent this picture, and I would love to have it printed. Only problem is I have a stray official wedding photographer in the composition and whilst I like the fella, I would prefer him out of the image :-).

I don't really want to crop the image to cut him out as it would devalue the composition in my eyes. Can anyone offer some advice as to the best way to remove him (in the nicest possible sense) and the chairs.

Any advice appreciated.

Regards

Used clone tool and did crop a little.

all_digital - you've turned him into a ghost, very impressive!

In all seriousness, is that a CS2/3 cloning tool? I have Photoshop Elements, could that also do the trick?

Cheers

Conrad - quite stunning. I didn't believe it would be totally possible to erase the fella, but you have managed it. Thank you. Did you just use clone tool or something else?

but you may look good with that beer and everything but the lady came out with her eyes closed..

I understand that it may be all about you but come on... pay attention to the lady a little. It may help in the long run.

that shot is a snap, the official photographer wouldn't even include it in the magic 400 to review

that said removing the photographer is easy, but in case you wanted to remove the two ladies and appear all alone then it's easy too.

I find no indication, other than the name, (which does indeed appear to be a gentleman's name), that the person making this request is the gentleman. So, what if LARDINIO, is one of the young women??

Markleh,

I see this is your first post in the retouching forum. In general, people here are civil to one another. If you don't have anything to contribute to this forum, then I would request that you go back to your equipment forums and have your fun there.

After:

1) Used copy & paste to cover most of the stray photog. (Selected & copied areas from left of photog with lasso tool, feather of 3, pasted to new layer, moved as needed).

2) Used a little bit of cloning to better blend trees where man's head used to be.

3) Used copy & paste to remove chair leg from groom's pant leg.

4) Used clone tool on the other chair legs and to remove a few other small distractions. (I see now that the bright spot on the dress I removed appears to be the bottom of a wine glass. That might be more evident on the full-size pic but I thought it was just a "blemish" here.)

4) auto-levels

5) Tried to fix the sky up some but since that didn't come out all that great, no need to say what I did there. ;)

No one had tackled the chairs so I gave it a shot. Don't have time to delete the photographer right now nor did I try to enhance the photo in any way. Just tested removing the chairs.

I probably butchered the design on her dress but wasn't much to pull from. You might be able to get the pattern from a different picture and do it more justice.

I agree with JYD, in that we try very hard to be civil to one another and offer help when requested. It makes for a much better experience around here when someone needs help and many jump in to give it.
