You should be able to use this flash, but you won't get any P-TTL or TTL action; you also won't get HSS. You should be able to operate the flash in manual mode. To be safe, you should tape off the 4 pins, but leave the center pin exposed for sync.

I have been using 580EX II on DS w/o problem at all, but in M & A flash mode only of course.
