This was an extremely tough challenge to judge. There were 164 photos submitted, and all of them worth consideration. Just a side note, a couple that were submitted “right out of the camera” could have benefited from some use of curves to give them some pop.
I was able to reduce the 164 to my “top 23”. Every one of these were deserving of at least honorable mention. These I reduced to my top 5, with the criteria that they also have great composition, that they popped off the screen, and that the technical details were spot on.
