A Telescope Stretches From Brooklyn to London

I checked this out on Saturday. I am actually heading to london next week and was thinking of checking it out from london.

(I may try to coordinate with my wife to have us see each other real time. That would be pretty cool. Me having a picture from london of her and she has a picture of me from brooklyn.

Well, here's a take from the London end with Tower Bridge on the left and a snip of the mayor's office on the right ...

Nice! You're the first person to post the London's version.

Both the London and New York sculptures look identical!?

Yep - here's one from a slightly different angle.

It's a great idea ... and massively popular (although around the time I was there on Friday midnight it was pretty quiet).

Good to see a few shots from the other side as well.

It's definitely identical Jakob. Here's another one from NY:

What was funny is one night that I was down there, a guy in NYC wrote on a placard that "Our Bridge Is Better Than Your Bridge". I got a chuckle when I read that.

I am glad someone posted from london. I am heading there tonight with meetings all day tomorrow. I am returning wednesday and wasn't sure if I would have time to go there. (I also will only have my P&S since I can't justify carrying my camera on such a short trip.)

I'd take the Nikon and not the p&s ;)

He he ... you gotta smile about that.

I have been to NYC many times and you guys have some absolutely amazing sights over there ... including Brooklyn Bridge. I have seen some of your night-time shots of the same ... very nice. But hey ... our bridge is pretty cool too ;-)

Yes, I agree. I like the Tower Bridge.

Thanks. And I've been to London, England (pre-digital SLR days) and loved the views there as well.
