Capture NX 1.3.3 update will not install

Using Leopard (10.5.3) on a MBP. Installed Capture NX 1.3.0 from disk. On start-up, it tries to download the update but fails. Downloading the update (the German European version) and running it says it cannot find Capture NX.

Interestingly, my Capture NX box is in German as is the manual (it was bought from Amazon in Germany) but the software itself is in English (even if I switch OS X to German). On the splash screen it reads 'Capture NX version 1.3.0 - 23201
SPM version 1.3.0'.

Downloaded the American English updater from here:

from there I got the UK updater. It worked. The versioning looks still a bit odd:
'Capture NX Version 1.3.1 - 25111
SPM Version 1.3.3'

There might be reasons why the have different versions requiring different updaters. But to me there can be no excuse of shipping a version with a German manual requiring a UK updater, nor for the auto-update not being able to find the right updater.

I realize you are fairly proficient with all things mac and google translation. I have no answer for you with downloading the software but do let me know if I can translate something from German, if it helps. (speak fluent German, just e-mail me).
Perhaps that is not your problem at all but just in case.

my NX keeps prompting me to update through the US site/updater, but then always fails to install, and shows the same strange information that you and others have seen:

'Capture NX Version 1.3.1 - 25111
SPM Version 1.3.3'

I think Jason Odell posted here that while the above version info is confusing, it nonetheless means that NX version 1.3.3 has been successfully installed. I hope he's right, but I'm not sure how to test it.

The update function in both Capture NX and View NX never works as far as I can tell...

Hopefully Capture NX 2 will solve the problem.

The update that shows when staring CNX just disregard. Do all the updates from Nikon's web site. I download the updates and do the install.

I have the latest updates of CNX 1.3.3 and every time I use Capture I get the update notice. Must be something in the software but I just dieregard and no problem
