Yup. They are very good to deal with. Got my D80(Refurbished), 70-300mm VR(New), SB-800(New) and Lightsphere set from them.

Excellent support, very fast shipping and good prices too.

When I see something from Cameta that I want I don't hesitate to buy from them.

and have been in business for quite awhile. But they got really smart and have a huge ebay presence because they know that if things are priced correctly, they'll fly. And so many of the items they sell...fly on ebay.

Now once you win the ebay item, they do wait until your payment clears PayPal. In otherwise, when you hit the "pay now" button and transfer funds from your PayPal account, they do wait a few days until they know for sure that the money transferred. Apparently they got burned in the past with shipping the moment it was shown that the item was paid for with PayPal.

But yes, you cannot go wrong with them.

Just received the SB-600 flash from them last week. No issues. My only question was answered in the reply before this one....I ordered on Thursday and didn't ship until Monday.

I won't hesitate to order from them again.

BTW-The SB600 is underrated! Very impressive!

Cameta is a no worry store to buy from. I've purchased several items from them, including my D80 with 100% satisfaction. Excellent communication, tracking, customer service and delivery from them each time.
 
I've purchased from them several times. Everything was cool.

I often buy thru Amazon as the shipping is typically lower than going to Cameta directly.

I've ordered a couple of things from them. Overall I'm pretty happy and would buy again but I'd hesitate to buy another "factory demo" item from them. One of the products looked new while the other one was pretty clearly used. They also come in "refurbished" boxes so who knows what they actually are.

My “Factory Demo” D40 for $300 was never used. I’m very happy with my purchase from Cameta and would buy from them again.

Paul – they guarantee “mint condition” – have you tried to get the used one replaced?

I got a refurbished D40. The kit was missing the viewfinder cover thingy. I never use it but I did want the complete kit.

I let cameta know and they sent me a profusely apologetic email and sent out the thing in a bubble envelope, priority shipping. The basically spent 10 bucks to ship a five dollar bit of plastic that they easily could've sent regular mail. Just to keep the customer happy.

If Nikon Canada provided such great service, I wouldn't be thinking about defecting to Canon or Fuji!

I bought a "factory demo" from Cameta, and was surprised when it came in a refurb box and had only a 90 day manufacturers warranty (but Cameta warrants it for a full year). It also had some fingerprints on the screen, and the battery charger did not work, so my intial impression was not a good one. I called Nikon, and they said that all factory demos would be treated as refurbs, even if hardly touched. I checked shutter actuations, and it was a small number (10 or 15, I think). Cameta sent me a replacement battery charger. Overall, I'm very happy with the camera, but I did tell Cameta that I thought that there description was misleading.
 
They are good...but perhaps a better online store than a brink and mortar.

I walked in there last week looking for serveral items. I questioned 4 items...a tamron 1.4 tele converter, a sigma 10-20, sigma 105 macro, and tamron 90mm macro. Not one in stock for my D50!!! 0 for 4!

The guy was a bit embarrassed, but joked about it. I told him i was going to Berger Bros camera right down the road. He told me he would get anything for me in two days. I then told him...well i can get it down the road now, or from online in two days. He then proceeds to tell me he would beat any price...I asked , Would you beat your price online..he said yes. I will be back with my prices!

my previous post got lost, so here it it again - what I wanted to say is that if you have to return the item (I just did that last week with Cameta) you will have to pay for the shipping - so don't buy heavy stuff :)

Otherwise no problems, I got the refund without any questions asked.

No I didn't. To clarify, I picked up an 18-135 and it looked new and works great. I also bought a D80 that looked new but had a couple of sensor dust bunnies out of the box and the battery and charger were lightly scuffed but very obviously used/worn.

If the D80 had a problem I would have contacted them. I'm not going to pay $10 in shipping to exchange a $20 battery. Not worth the time.

My point being, the factory demo stuff seems to be a crapshoot if you get new/mint or lightly used.

I bought a 18-55 from them an d I paid on a weds night and had it by Fri shipping was a little high and I had to pay the customs aswell because they won't put gift or warranty on the package but I will always buy from them when I shop online.
