I have just bought the Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ 18

what case is the best to carry DMC FZ 18?

Thank you very much

When I purchased the FZ7, the proprietor steered me away from the
Panasonic line of cases in stock, which actually cost more, yet were
not as practical. I ended up taking his advice and went with a slightly
larger "Roots" brand padded case. Simply fantastic!

Has all of the features needed to house the camera, storage for extra
batteries, memory cards, charger and even one of those cheap little
fold up table top tridods along with slim, zippered, outer pockets to hold

a wallet, manual and loose change! Belt loop and shoulder strap included, this thing also works great for the FZ18 which I purchased not too long ago.

Used it while getting caught in a torrential downpour on a trip to Cuba
and everything inside stayed dry as a bone!

For $20.00 CAN, I'm thinking of getting another one so my wife can
carry the FZ7 on her own as it's not quite large enough for the 2 of them.

If you need more info on the case, or a pic, let me know and I'll try and post
one for you.

Thanks
Kim

This is a small video bag. http://products.lowepro.com/product/Edit-110,1938,22.htm

It is just big enough for the camera (with the lens adapter attached) and battery charger in the main compartment. The front compartments can hold 2 filters. I have a spare battery in one side pocket and a 3rd filter in the other side pocket. It has a belt loop feature as well as shoulder strap (you can use both). Also a really nice feature is that h top flap has a zipper closure and velcro. When traveling, its zipped. But in use around the site, I just close the bag with the velcro to keep the camera handy. Its still very well secured. The inside of the top flap is also just large enough to hold your passport and a filter wrench.

My only wish would be for a slightly larger (longer) bag that could hold an ultrapod II (mini tripod) and maybe a tiny folding umbrella.

I have not seen this case mentioned here, but I find it a perfect fit for the FZ 18 with lens hood attached. Small case but hold camera perfectly and room for spare battery, SD cards, couple of filters, and even charger if you want.
Check it out at http://www.lowepro.com .

Highly recommend you take a look.....Regards

The Targus bag I found at Walmart hold the camera, hood, charger and USB cable comfortably snug. Pockets, of course for cards, thumb drive, etc.

A good way to pick the right bag, when possible, is to take your camera, hood, etc. with you in the store, and put it in the bag you're considering. Then you know if it fits right.

It will go in.

Hold the bag open in your left hand with the two pocket side resting in your hand. Hold the cam in your right hand by the grip as you normally hold it for shooting. Tuck the cam into the bag first tucking the lens side behind the bellows on the far side of the bag. Next tuck the viewfinder behind the bellows on the side closer to you. Now the top of each side will stretch over the grip end at the top of the bag. Initially the fit will be tight, but the bag will conform to the cam over time. Mine is an easy fit now. Carefully move the zip over the lens area so it doesn't catch and then zip the side over the evf. I keep a small piece of micro fiber cloth to further protect the lens side.

The two small pockets hold an extra battery and cards. The bag and cam fit in my jacket pocket. The cam is always in the bag or a pocket unless I'm framing and taking a shot. Great protection.

I'd love to see a picture of this Roots bag D5 with the fz18 in it. In this picture it looks too small.
