Do I need a 3.3 Megapixels Cameras?

Just requesting an advice from all of you expereinced people out there....if I only take pictures at 1024X768, does getting a 3.3 MP camera makes the picture better?

I like the features in Sony cameras, so I am deciding if I want the S70 or S50 now.

hi Marcus,
maybe the S30 is sufficient for your use.
the S50 has res of 1600x1200.

I like to have the video clip capture in S50 and S70, it is a must-have for me.

I know the S30 can take pictures at this res but I want to know if by getting a 3.3 MP camera, Will the images be better at that res.?

Pix quality should be similar as basic filmware in all 3 cameras are same ,however S70 will be better due to Zeiss lens. Don't know much about specs of D30/D50 except no Zeiss n v/f.

I'll give you my guess (I dont have a 3.3MP camera to compare with), 3.3MP cameras mightgive you a better quality picture, even though they're both taken as 1024X768. It will give you more details, sharper image, and better color. Why ? Because the CCD has more sensors to capture light.

What I said are common facts ... sometimes what's obvious are frequently neglected. Oh well.
If I were you, I'll get at least the S70 (or 505V). Have fun!
