Poll......What kind of point and shoot do you own????

Coolpix P5100. I just bought one prior to going to Rome two weeks ago. For just over $300 you get 12 mg pixel, MANUAL, shutter priority, Vibration Reduction lens and auto ISO to 3200.

I did not even take my D300 in the Vatican. It the dark museum I shot at 1/30th or 1/60 and got great shots. This camera has solved my biggest problem with point and shoots.....the ability to shoot in available light and use fill flash...and make it look natural.

Extremely funny you mention this - because the P&S I recommend to friends is indeed the same Canon SD 850 IS. :-)

well, I consider the Leica M8 as a point and shoot

but it is the leica d-lux 3 silver

unfortunately the world just doesn't fit properly in the sensor of a 35mm camera

dave veneri:

1. None, as I have yet to find one that has enough of the features I want/expect, in a camera.

2. And, this is the reason, I have two Nikon D80 DSLRs, to meet my "small camera" needs. I simply slap on a Nikkor 35/2D or 50 1.4D lens, and I am fit to go; and, this becomes my "point-and-shoot" -- it's small, light-weight, easy to carry, and is a powerful little shooting unit, at the same time, :-)

BRJR ....(LOL, some of us are quite satisfied as Hobbyists ..)

Ok, we all know we have them. You know for those times when you are
forced to go to your inlaws parties and don't want to bring the good
stuff.....lol. I'll start by saying mine is the canon powershot SD
850 IS : ) Great little camera that really is pocket sized.....I'll
roll this out to the d300 forum as well.....God, I hope my wife
doesnt troll on here!?!?!?!
