... I put this tutorial together about a year back and thought some of you may like to take a look at it or visit it again.

It is a simple way to post process images in a step by step format. It really doesn't matter which camera you use, they can all benefit from a little 'nip and tuck' at times.

The link will take you to a PDF document which is located on my site. You may download and use it for your personal use and it is free ! Save it, print it - is all OK.

Hope it helps some. By the way, it will take a little time to download so be patient :

Thanks!

I have been looking for something to help in that regard. I am sure I will put it to good use after my Summer in Europe with my new H50!

Between this and Alan's White Paper, I got a lot of learnin' to day with my H50!

Good tutorial but..

...I went over to your main site and...

WOWWWWWWWWWWWW! Awe-inspiring photographs there. The most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen.

Amazing site.

Some comments/questions

You used the burn tool to adjust the sky. How does that differ from selecting the sky and then using the brightness slider? I just have not tried the burn tool that much.

A far easier straighten method is to use (and this is from memory as I created an action) Transform/Rotate with a guide on the hoizion or something that should be vertical or horizontal, that way there is no guess work.

... I use the burn tool as it gives an even spread to everything. I was trying to keep this as simple as possible when I wrote this and did not want to get into 'selecting, masking, etc'. I also use the burn tool to darken other areas, such as backgrounds. Here you can rough select and use broad feathering techniques to isolate other areas.

Straighten - The reason I showed that example is that once you have 'drawn' the horizon line, PhotoShop automatically measures the angle and all you do is hit 'OK'. Simple, no guessing. In practice, I also use other tools to do this but, again, I wanted to keep it as simple as possible.

Now that is a feature I had not found
