Hi again,
since no one has responded, is there anyone out there from HK that can let me know the price of a D1H and the best place in HK to get it (not grey please). I might as well get it from HK.

Maybe you should start another thread with the subject "D1H price in Singapore".
There are a few members on this forum who are based in S'pore and I am sure if they see it, someone may reply.
As for HK, the price here hasn't changed a cent since I bought mine in Dec/01.
Currently it still sells at around 25K HK$ (incl. batt + charger + warranty).
Many say Man Shing or Wing Shing (2 stores run by the same company) are OK. But, I always found their prices around 5% higher than what I would normally pay from another smaller shop in Central area.
You can email me separately and I can give you the details (ph nos and addresses of MS & WS as well as of the smaller dealer I buy from).
While here, you better visit those shops in person and try to negotiate. If they don't know you they do not accept negotiating prices over the phone. And remember that here the best price is for cash payment. Credit cards are normally charged at 2-3% on the cash price.
Avoid those shops in Tsim Sha Tsui area if you don't know them. Some of them can be very tricky!!
One question: if you intend to use the camera in the US, even with an official HK warranty, wouldn't it be still considered grey by Nikon US?

Funny you should ask, but I was out looking for a D1H down Stanley St. just this lunch time! Got quoted HK$ 24,000 in Kinefoto and HK$32,000 in Scientific Photo. Neither had one in the shop but said they could get it in 3-4 hours if the distributor had one available. Kinefoto had a D1X in stock. Both appeared to be quoting for the full set including battery, charger, software etc.
I'm also trying to track down a Singapore price. Will let you know if I get one.

Although their name says it all about photo equipment, they are a kind of electric appliances superstore, selling also coffe machines and juicers, irons, cell phones, etc.
Are you sure of what you're saying?
They have always been at least 10-15% dearer on top of other street prices quoted by specialized photo-only shops.
If the price you mentioned is correct, that's a real steal, especially if considering that they accept 12 months interest-free installments with major credit cards!

Where are they located? I found their web site but it is all in Chinese. Knew I should have gone to the Cantonese classes!

Kowloon, Mongkok, there is a street has 2 Boardway shop, forgot the name, also Wing Shing & Ma Sing also near by. Good luck.
But if you come to HK, there are no difference buying gary market or local HK dealer stock, becuase you are going to take away from HK, so no warranty outside HK anyway.
Just push your luck get a gary market stock.

I already have a D1H!
But, the deal is true, even if they have no stock left! I checked thru their Times Square store. The price is corrrect. But of no use if they have no cameras to sell!!!
That's a shame! In fact, a friend of mine was just about to make the leap!!!

I went to Mong Kok this evening and found three Broadway stores in one street but none of them had a D1H. I did find one in Wing Shing for HK$22,800 (US$2,925). They wanted HK$1,820 for the 50mm f1.4, HK$10,300 for the AFS 17-35mm and HK$10,500 for the AFS 28-70. The guy quoted me the prices without looking them up so you could probably do a deal to get the price down a bit.

It is not tricky if you know who you're dealing with.
And the companies mentioned in this thread thay are all very reputable.
The only thing is that if you intend to export the camera to your country of residence, a gray camera or a camera with full official warranty won't make any diference to you, unless you have the means or if you don't mind to ship camera back to either S'pore or HK for repair or mantainance!!!

The Boardway Stores close to Wing Shing, near MTR exit, should has a D1H in windows, and also listed as 18,800 full set.
May be they only has one set. But I am sure it there, becuase I walk pass many week ago, still there.
