I have just got my D7i and would like to be able to use my Metz 45CT flash with it. There is a PC Flash Adapter PCT-100 listed in the D7i manual (P150), does anyone know if this gives a co-ax socket or just a normal hot shoe.
I can't see any sca adapters for the Metz.
Thanks

Joe, the PCT-100 ahs a standard PC connector socket.

Someone posted that UK dealer claim customers have to get it directly from Minolta UK. Interested if finding out if this is true. If so, that might explain why I have had inquires from UK about the alternative adapter that I special order.

Tony,
Thanks for the quick response. I'll go get one.

Joe, do you have a cable with a standard hot shoe connector?
If you do, then an FS-1100 adaptor and v122 firmware will do the same.

Jeff, I was the person who was trying to get the info for the PCT 100- 2 important things:

1. you DO NOT need to upgrade the D7i firmware (Minolta UK have confirmed the upgrade is already in D7i ver 1.0 & I have succesfully tested it.

2. Minolta have confused retailers about ordering the PCT-100, however if you are in the UK you should be able to order it from Jessops as Minolta UK contacted them recently about this.

My bad. Disregard upgrade to v122.

The FS-1100 will allow you to attach any flash to the D7i. The ones that do work quite well with the D7 are Thyristor models from Sunpak (tested 433D) and Vivitar (tested 285, 285).

As long as you have a menu option (or the 2 buttun press) to brighten the screen, you are all set.
