I've minimized dreaming the Mark series with the A700
I don't give opinions, just what I see : ).
Now 99.9% jpg but still 100% hand held,
No baits, calls and tricks but will use luck.

Three of my best deals...
  • $200 for a Minolta AF 50mm f2.8 Macro, Minolta AF 100mm f2.8 Macro, and Minolta Xtsi with 28-80mm lens
  • $70 for a Minolta 7000, 28-85mm, 70-210mm F4, and 50mm f1.7
  • $35 for a Minolta 28-135mm f/4-4.5

This lens ought to be a nice bargain optic on full frame ... not that full frame users necessarily need bargain optics. I had an original copy, sold it with my 7xi, then picked up an [RS] which focusses quicker/smoother. Both were nice, sharp lenses. MFD isn't very good and the macro mode is just for goofing around, but otherwise a nice cheap lens. I keep mine on my film 7 mostly and only haven't sold it because for the $50 I might get for it, I might as well keep it "just in case".

I was given a Minolta Dynax 600si with a Minolta 28-105 and 100-300mm.

Actually it was being given the 600si that got me to buy the A200 as I have always been a Canon fan.

I got the 'famous' KM 28-75mm at Frye's clearance for $99 + tax. Partnered with my $297 Sony A100 (Best Buy clearance), that's a pretty dang nice photography tool for $400.

My favorite inexpensive lens (not on a bargain) is definitely the 50mm f/1.7 for $79 new.

I also recently picked up a mint-condition Minolta MD 24mm f/2.8 W.Rokkor-X for $29.50 + tax. I felt like I was robbing the camera store when they sold me that one.

Along with a beer can for $65. Your shots look like you are somewhere around AZ USACanuk, is that correct? Send me a message if you are as I am looking to meet up with some other Sony/Minolta shooters in the area. Those that are local I can tell you where to get another beer can for about the same. I also bought a kit of a 430 film body with a 2000XI flash, sigma 28-80, case and 24 F2.8 prime for $70. I kept the prime, and have the camera, flash and zoom on consignment where if it sells soon I will get $90, or I might call the store at the end of the week and accept the $70 they offered me. That means that my 24 was either free or I might have even been paid to take it.

As for other deals, I just ordered a Sigma 28-70 F2.8 for $200. It troubles me a little though because I am not sure which it is. KEH had it listed as an 28-70 F2.8 SIGMA ASPHERICAL D DG EX. That's all well and good, but Dyxum does not list an Aspherical DG EX. They list a DG EX (no asph., the newest incarnation), an Aspherical DF EX, and a simple Aspherical EX. While I THINK I am getting the newest (and highest rated), I cannot be sure. Does anyone else have a guess on which this lens really is?

Darn, I thought I had you beat with my $65 beer can and my $20 50 1.7, but I cannot find a Tamron 90 Macro anywhere, much less under $100. Oh well, cannot win them all I suppose...

I know it's a film lens, but here's an example from the $29.50 Minolta MD 24mm f/2.8 and Kodak Tri-X Pan 400. Taken with Minolta XD-11.

Ballard Locks in Seattle

100% crop

I have a lot of lens (i don't know the exact number ... ).

But if we are talking about Cheap lenses, and not rare to find. There is the Tamron 200-400mm F/5.6 that is very impressive for the price you can find it on ebay or anywhere.

On APS-C sensor, you are using the good point of this lens, and you can have some very sharp image from 200mm to 350mm.

For the price, there is no zoom on the market that can compete with this lens.

The lens is build like tank and you don't have to worry to bring it with you anywhere.

I never even mounted it on any camera, but the A700 kit was cheaper than body only, and then there was the cashback that only applied to the simultaneous purchase of body and lens, so all in all I got paid to buy it.

If I decide to sell my 7D, I'll probably include that lens.
