I feel like saying "no" to flickr altogether, but their darn site is flexible and versatile (and FREE)...

1. Yahoo! will spend money and engineering time on this, rather than adding features to the Photo capabilities of the site.
2. Videos will use much more bandwidth, raising the costs to run the site, and necessitating more (and more intrusive) advertisements to make up for the higher expense.
Really, every downside will be some variation of concern #1.

I've noticed a lot of photography related videos on flickr. Slideshows, time-lapse photography, instructional photography videos etc

its a photo site its about art and more..video will just bring a lot of distractions it will bring all kind of worthless videos of fights wrestling driving and more bs

Oh bovine excrement, there are already a million garbage photos on Flickr of people doing the same things you don't want to see videos of them performing. I'm glad you have a cause to defend... but it sure is a silly one. Unless you are actually paying them for the service, they can do whatever they want. You deal with it, or you don't.
If you don't like the way Flickr is run, buy lots of Yahoo stock and make you voice heard.
I have a Flickr Pro account, a Photobucket account, and more on Picasa. If you don't like Flickr, there are many other places on the net to park you pics.

Of course, gasoline prices are partially to blame for the rising food prices, since high fuel prices 1) encourage farmers to plant more corn for processing as ethanol rather than grains for food, and 2) drive up transportation costs.
