My K10D arrived today! It's awesome, as expected. Only problem is the lens I ordered hasn't arrived yet :( (the FA 50/1.4). But that didn't stop me from taking some photos!

I know, not very exciting. But anyone have any idea what that shadow is from? I think it is part of the camera frame.

Hi

now that will look good on a canvas ;-)

i love my new k10d too so have fun.

im guessing its because you havent got a lens on it.

Indeed, that's part of the opening in front.

Did you leave the white camera body cap on the camera? I hope you did, because a sensor recording light has a static charge that attracts dust, and if you would take a picture with nothing in between the sensor and the environment that might make a very dusty sensor. At least I hope the shutter speed was fast enough to avoid that...

If you want to take pictures without a lens, you could try using the K10D as a pinhole camera for a while. A piece of cardboard with a hole made by a needle should be a good start. I'm sure googling pinhole camera will get you started...

Congrats on your new camera btw!!

Thanks for the tip about the dust, I didn't know that! Good thing it has built in dust removal!

The pinhole is an awesome idea, I am definitely going to try that!

My Leica Digilux 2 is to blame for my getting a new camera. The image sensor broke (this is a known defect covered under warranty). It's currently being repaired. But checkout this abstract art!

Sorry for the non-Pentax photo, but it is on topic :)
