Ihave XP home on the laptop and Pro on the desktop and I gotta try it. I have used a pic I took (as close as I dared) of a fire in a BBQ pit. It oughta look cool on the pipes...

I don't see a "Plus!" anywhere, but there is the option to show a my pictures slideshow (ez)- something. But the slideshow won't do what he was talking about (If I understood)he said it would apply the pic as a texture on the pipes. not just show a pic.

...didja melt a little of the camera?...
...I don't have Plus for XP...and this is not a slide show I'm referring to...

...it will wrap yer image around all the pipes and joints...(had yer fire shot wrapped around my pipes a while ago)...
1. right click on desktop...
2. click on Properties
3. click on Screensaver tab
4. scroll to select 3d pipes

5. then click settings button (middle of page... not the settings button at the top)...
6. next screen, select "surface style" as textured (not solid)
7. then click "choose texture" button

8. then "look in"...desktop, my pics, storage drives...wherever the image is that you want to use...
9. highlight yer image file name when you find it, then hit "open"

10. click on OK on 3d pipes settings page, then click on preview on display properties screen to check it out...then click "OK", and yer done...
...I hope...

operating systems. As long as you have the option for the 3D pipes in your screen savers.. I run Win2k and I can wrap a .bmp file around the pipes... Have 95 at work and can do it with that too... (o:

Thanks, newby

But I still can't get it to work. I've tried it many many times on both computers XP HE and XP Pro. Ifollowed these steps to the letter and it still will not apply the texture and I've tried many different pic, even tried using bmps. Something's different and its buggin me to no end. I guess youll have to send me a screenshot of it in your pipes just so I can see the effect! I'm wondering, when you click "open" after selecting the pic.... is there any confirmation that the procedure 'took'? i.e. is there a dialog that says 'loading'? a progress bar? is the "choose texture" button grayed out? any indication at all other than running the preview? I see no change at all after selecting the image, just as if I didn't choose one at all.

I don't think its your directions... they seem to be complete and following the logical path. There's something missing on my computer(s) that lets this work.....damifino

Hi newbuzzy,

If you get a chance to purchase the Plus pack...(don't unless on sale)

It adds a cool picture cube slideshow...you just point it to a folder of images and you have options of fade, rolling, album, ferris wheel, cube and random...and you can play a Windows Media Playlist along with it.
