I got my XSi last week from Canada for a trip this weekend. I have been reading the manual and playing around with all the lenses. Currently, I am on the road in Kentucky and saw a nice tree full of blossoms here at the hotel.....I couldnt resist...so I took these two pics.

The XSi is my DSLR so learning it everyday. I like this camera!

The two pics posted are in the Flickr link below.

If you have the XTi or XT, can you compare similar shots shot in different ISO settings with the same lens and mount and focal length? It would be nice to compare this and to keep the test controlled, so no one will say that this is because of the lens, etc.

Thanks!

Come on, post more, please! Especially ISO 1600 shots! =P
Why is everybody soooooo interested in ISO1600 shots? I mean ... of course it's good to know what IQ the camera delivers at ISO 1600, but as a matter of fact, I think that less than 1% of my photos is taken at ISO 1600.

I'm much more interested in Manual Focussing using Live View. Currently with my 400D I loose Macro photos, because the camera does not always lock focus exactly where I wanted. Seems you can solve this with Live View and Manual focus.

If one day I need to shoot ISO1600, I'll probably have to run some noise removel filters anyway, so as long as the noise doesn't get too bad, I'm not so worried about that. Till today, all my ISO400 tele shots, or macro shots have their noise removed perfectly with PS CS3.

Thanks,
Gerrit

So, my question on 90% of pictures at 800/1600 is why?

Why would you be taking that many at those higher exposures? Is it on purpose (some kind of artistic reason) or is it the nature of the kind of shots you take (low light, no flash, etc)?

I'm curious because this is my first Digital SLR and I'm still trying to get my artistic feet wet so to speak.
