I can't get Vista to properly connect to my EOS 450D (Xsi).
I DON'T want to connect to download images, but to use REMOTE CAPTURE.
Here's the thing:
1. I have installed (and reinstalled) the entire EOS Digital Solution suite before connecting the camera
2. The camera is fully charged and says "Busy" on the LCD when attached with USB.
3. Windows regognizes a new hardware and pops up a bubble...
4. Windows: "Installing devide driver software: installing Canon Digital Camera " + "Searching preconfigured driver folders..."
5. After a few seconds Vista changes its mind (?) and it says Digital Still Camera Failed. "Device driver was not successfully installed."
6. The device manager (right click My computer + Manage) lists the camera as a Portable device with a yellow warning triangle.
7. Uninstalling the driver does not help.
I suspect this has something to do with Vista SERVICE PACK 1, since it does work on another Vista computer without SP1.
Has anyone got remote shooting working for an EOS camera connected to a Vista computer using Service Pack 1?
Sincerely
Robert
