Nice image . . . lighting is awesome!
Thank you! I'm glad you liked them as they are a bit different! Had
to tell you I love your Sig. tulips...beautiful light there!!
Thanks!

That was one of the photos that made me believe in my FZ50.

When I first got my FZ50 I used it exclusively for a for a couple of
months, but was dismayed at the photos as I looked at them on my
computer screen.

They just didn't have the 'snap' that the images from my 4MP FZ10 did
on the computer monitor, and I put the FZ50 away for a few months and
started using my FZ10 again!

One day I decided to figure out what the problem was with my FZ50, so
I picked out a few shots and enlarged them at the photo lab.

This tulip shot was the first one I enlarged, and it was then that I
realized where the FZ50 shines!
Trevor says the same thing! He has printed some ( I have yet too, though I am sending one to be done) I am anxious to see what it turns out like!
On print . . . not on the computer monitor!

I've come to the conclusion that lower megapixel images look better
on the computer than higher megapixel shots!

I still use my FZ10 for some things, but the FZ50 is now the one I
grab when I don't need my DSLR!

Here is one of the other FZ50 images that made me change my mind
about the FZ50:
Gorgeous shot indeed!

Both of these are jpegs straight out of the camera . . . no post
processing whatsoever (except resizing).

I now believe that anyone who owns an FZ50 and doesn't print from it
is missing out on the full potential of this camera!
I love the camera..I haven't seen the print from it yet, but I'm sure it will make me love it even more!

Thanks so much for sharing these with me! A couple of very fine images!!

'Keep a song in your heart & a camera in your hands'

I sure hope you can get this resolved quickly...at least if you send
it in you have your Panny. That's what I've been using lately..I'm
waiting for the flood of lenses they have taken so far..to quiet down
a bit so I hopefully won't be without mine for as long as some have.
Today I called Olympus and they told sensor cleaning is included in the warranty. It takes 2-3 weeks, however. I will send in next week. You are right, I have still my FZ5, or I will take a break.

Thanks for your sympathy, Robin-Lee.

Hello Robin-Lee,

It snowed a couple inches here yesterday. My tulips are about two inches out of the ground right now. I was thinking you must have had a pot of them by the look of the background.

Here is a quick texture trick in PSP. Go to; effects> artistic effects> colored foil and click. Next, go to; image> negative image and click. Sha zam! Colored foil is vastly adjustable.

You should learn script recording. Try this, for those long just experimenting sessions that you can't even remember where you started, method. Turn on the "history palette" and make sure the 'scripting toolbar' is on, also. Both are found under the 'view' button.

Run three or four simple adjust or effect commands. Look on the history palette and control select only the commands that are not yellow or red; then click the tiny button that says 'save quickscript.' Next, go to the script toolbar and see on the drop-down menu the script called "QuickScriptTemp." In the upper right of that box, click the 'resource manager' button. In that box, find QuickScript Temp and select and rename. Now you have a script. QuickScriptTemp will run, but it will be replaced the next time you "save quickscript."

Now for the good stuff. Select your script or any script and click the 'edit selected script' button on the script toolbar. There is the script. If you don't want the script to run a certain command, uncheck it. If you want to change a certain command, select, then click the edit button. Make the adjustment, click OK, then save, then close. The script will run just as before, only with the changes you have made. The script will always run with these settings, no matter what, until you re-edit them.

I made a script that can use six basic photo adjustments, if need be, but rarely use all six at once.

You can also record scripts from the scripting toolbar in a more deliberate method.

Scripts are good!

Hi Roger,

I can't thank you enough for the "tute" This will make things alot easier!! Most folks seem to be using photoshop, so all I've learned is through trial an error. I also picked up a book for PSPX1 which is what I have, it's ok, but in some areas vague.

I have not yet purchased the upgrade, is yours an upgrade from X1? I think they added HDR toX2 if I'm not mistaken. I was just wondering if it was worth the upgrade from X1..I'll have to look into that..I'm all for having yet another function to try and figure out LOL!

Thanks for taking the time to write this all down for me step by step, I will give it a go, it should make the creative process less time consuming and alot less confusing! Thank you!!

Hi Robin-Lee. At first I wasn't sure, but the more I looked at it, it became very appealing. It looks almost like a fine lithograph.

Robin-Lee,

I had never used the HDR in PSPX2. I think with a little practice, trial and error, a person would get good results.

I skipped X1 in the upgrade process. Something that X2 has that makes things easier for me is the rating system in the organiser. I use it to sort the high school sports pictures I take into home team and guest and coaches and crowd as it automatically selects the next picture. For me, this feature is just great!

First HDR shot at ISO400 on a tripod, bracketed one stop. I think it is better than any of the original three in the series. DCNR and fade correction have been applied.
