I went for my annual Spring Cataract check-up

Great post Ross!!!
Thanks Ker... Glad you had a look...
No need for EZ mode on the Chickadee... eh?
No but luckily I didn't have the TCon on like the last time, which you can see a few replies up in this thread...
I wonder if I can get a scholarship to the School of Cameratology?
You're in already... I nominated you as soon as you ordered 'The Blue'...
Is this the same group that Tom Cruise belongs too?
A militant, yet less serious faction that takes no prisoners, just pics....

Tony Soprano drove a cataract, right? ;-)
Great shots, Ross.
Thanks but,
I particularly like the one of the bird in your
hand. Also like the water shot just above that - incredible detail.
Your use of the 50 inspires me to go out and capture some great shots with mine.
That's a two-way street, yourself & others reciprocate in kind on a daily basis here....
Take care,
Daniel

Looks like you have some pretty bad cataracts Rossuziers. Better have
them looked at. Kidding aside, you are doing some very good wor there.

Jack
Thanks Jack but if it was "wor", I wouldn't be having anything to do with it & I'd probably be starving too... Nyuk, Nyuk, Nyuk,

Really terrific especially the first one and the bird on the finger
Nice shooting
Thanks fer lookin Ron,

They stood still long enough for a burst & I got a few more poses:

The weren't staying on any branches nearly as long.... So I had to pull out every trick I knew... They took the bait even though there was none in my hand...

Nice shots Ross......
Thanks fer lookin' Carol,
How did you get that chickadee to perch on your
hand and stay there long enough to get a shot off????
I was standing on an inch of empty peanut shells so they were expecting some more & They fall for it every time, with or without bait, of which I had none...
Thast one is
AMAZING and it's such a focused, sharp image.
I've caught then in-the-act before:

They're bold little buzzards...
I don't know how you
did it but it's awesome.
Just held my hand out, prefocused & waited for the first feeling of claw-contact, then rattled off a burst... They sure weren't cooperating in the branches...

Love your shots, every one of 'em, but that Chickadee in your hand, just blew me away! NICE one there.

P.S., when you get to be old like me, you'll take that word "cataract" more seriously? ;-)

Just cruisin' ...

EffZeeThirty (Got the Gull), EffZeeEighteen, TeeZeeThree

awesome shots, all fantastic, but my fave is pic 1
Thanks Mark,

how bout a soft, gloomy, free-hand pano version, that loses a lot viewed any bigger than this:

Or the one lookin back towards the other way:

A couple of great birds there , the chickedee and the female downy (
I assume that's what it is).
Yes I was lucky to get her on my first shot at her... Hubby ( I assume with the little red tuft behind his ear) wasn't having nothing to do with standing still for a sec.... Nor did she after that shot...
Aside from D-SLRs the FZ50 and FZ18
consistently appear to be the best birding cameras.
Preachin' to the choir, you are & ya don't even have to be a "Serious Photographer" ;-}

Looks like you passed the test Ross, excellent well presented set,
loved the bird..well done "your blindness"..Bill ~
Thanks Bill... When at the Cataracts, sometimes the chicks do tricks for me & other times I want to do tricks for other chicks:

And when that happens, ya know spring has sprung... I'll be goin' back in a few weeks ;-}~

You should drive up with the DW & the kids, once they're out of school... Perfect shake-down cruise for that soon to be new Jag, eh?

Thanks John, there are few other poses on my hand in a couple replies above...

"cataract" more seriously? ;-)
I have a Lazy-Eye, so I'm not completely unknowing & they call it "The Cataract City"...

I'm not quite to the top of the hump but even with my one good eye, I can see the top... Another year & it'll be all downhill from there...
