Young Brown Pelicans

This is my first time posting images, C&C welcome. I've only had my D80 for about a month, so be gentle LOL.

We spent the day at Pass a Grille Beach in south St Petersburg. I found these guys hanging out on some pilings. I believe they are young brown pelicans. They tend to lose their color as they get older. I love when you are snapping the shots, the tend to give you the 'eye!'

All shots are with a D80 & AF-S DX VR Zoom-NIKKOR 55-200mm f/4-5.6G IF-ED
Aperture Priority with a circular polarizing filter.

Thank you very much Morris. I love your bird images, BTW, so I really appreciate your comments. I didn't care for the background on the second one either, but I thought the capture of the pelican was too good to pass up.

Nice image with plenty of feather detail - how far away were you from the subject?

Thanks David, I was probably 20 or 30 feet away. Most of these pelicans are pretty much used to humans so you can get right up close.
